i haven’t seen a suggestion about this but why can’t pets have a permanent QZ buff so they are attacking at double the speed but with half damage?
There was a pet talent in WoW that did this and really helped with pets in pvp situations

That would actually hurt us, I think. Pets already miss half their attacks anyways…

but if they are attacking at double the speed the animation is faster so they can hit moving targets alot easier. It should make it so they don’t actually have to stop for so long to perform an attack.

Pets don’t always miss their atttack or half thier attacks. You dont balance something bases off what people are unable to do but by what is possible.

No one hits all thier attacks, Players or mobs. Thier is a video with a jaguar killing a golem in 2.7 seconds. While you can argue that pets don’t always hit or that a player wont stand still that long. It is possible to make a player stand still that long. By any count 2.7 is fast as hell also considering the fact you are not including the rangers damage.

This was before the quickness nerf but still. Alot of you complain how weak rangers are and how fast pets die. AI is an issue but they can be overcome until there is a fix.

Understand how mobs chose targets help. I find that when specced into Bm my pet dies more. This makes sense because most mob pick target based on. proxcimity ,damage and toughness. So more point in BM increase the likely-hood that your pet will be main target.

Sorry off track agian but basiclly increasing attack speed of pet could reduce the 2.7 seconds to 1.4 with or without the aid of the ranger which would make us a prime candidate for a nerf in the wrong place in the future.

dont worry with the quickness nerf pets cant attack that fast anymore to begin with, the basic pet attack speed is once every 3 sec for their basic attacks, so they can maybe get off 3 or 4 attacks with quickness now, still wont be anymore 2.7 sec stuff

Giant spiders of the world are just misunderstood creatures, they love to snuggle too.

The golem was stationary, and unable to defend itself. Players are neither of these things, unless they’re AFK. If a jaguar could kill a player, unaided, in 2.7 seconds, I might agree with your point of view.

Pets need serious help in pvp. But they need even more help in dungeons.

Those armadillos would be a lot cooler if they looked more like real armadillos. mmm armadillos

Rangers do well 1v1 (at least some of us). In a group is were most people say the ranger is lacking. 2.7 seconds without the rangers aid. Knock a second of if the ranger help so we come to 1.7. Most emobilize last 2 seconds 1 second on the low end and 4 on the high.

I’m not denying that moving targets can be an issue. But giving a perma quickness to pet while cutting damage in half is a nerf not a buff. Some time the ranger is the aggressor in combat. Thieves and Mesmers come to mind. But against aggressive opponents like Thieves (yes I know i said rangers are the aggressors vs them) and 100 blade Warriors it’s very easy to get them to stand still. All you have to do is stand still.

While I realize this works for me becuase I have 30 in marksmanship and sos it doesnt work for beast masters.

It your job to make your build work. Not all players and or mobs move. There are skill that root players the fact that you fall to choose the right moment and just spam skill randomly isnt the devs fault. Again I’m not saying there isnt an issue but it’s only game breaking for those who just spam.
