Pet damage
Did you use F2? The bristleback is capable of oneshotting the heavy golem ( https://goo.gl/eBIaB7 ), so I thought the time seemed a bit off.
That numbers seems very fishy… Bear best DPS? since when?

This is a link to a damage test a guy did with all of the pets on the moving target golem. It has a spreadsheet of all pet kill times (lol at the wyvern). Only 4 pets are actually any good when it comes to damage vs a moving foe.

>roles eyes< the numbers next the pets are their time to kill, so the bigger the number the longer it took the pet to kill the golem (and bear has the longest time). The bear being the first pet on the list has nothing to do with it’s damage.

Sry my fault, i see DPS everywhere
The tests are incorrect.
I believe the OP didn’t use the pet F2 abilities. Which would explain why different breeds of the same pet class are not mentioned.
On the side note: My bristleback is capable of killing a Heavy Target gollem in a matter of seconds. 21 is way too much.
I’d call this data more relevant, gotta give the guy credit:

Bristleback doesn’t even need to use F2 to basically 1 shot heavy golem, all it needs is to be positioned correctly and get it to use Rain of Spikes. Stacks 1,7k tick bleed and kills golem basically instantly.
Too bad most Rangers don’t know about the Bristleback burst. It seems counter-intuitive, so I’m not surprised. Use a ranged pet in melee? Nah.
Data from OP seems all right to use. This data seems to be for all the lazy, open-world Rangers out there. “What pet(s) does the most damage without me having to do any pet management whatsoever?” data (aka never pressing F1-F3 and sometimes F4).
Will update once Path of Fire releases.

Do you really believe an AFK Bearbow newbie would ever get interested in data? Of any kind? And if so, do you believe it’s a good idea to promote their bearbow playstyle further?
This suggest that SmokeScale is the best DPS pet among all.
And that statement cannot possibly go more incorrect any further.

Actually the Cats. However you are right, the SmokeDog disperse too much damage if there is more than one target for the SmokeAssault.
But i think the point of this thread is damage to a single target.
Still i like more the SmokeDog than the tiger or linx. Personal preference i guess.
Believe it or not, yes. There are some Rangers out there that play so casually but still want to kill stuff slightly faster than with a Bear. I’ve seen it so many times in-game it’s not even funny.
Also, no where did I, nor do I promote the playstyle of Bearbow. This data is more-or-less for the lazy Ranger that wants a DPS pet instead of the Brown Bear, which in my opinion, is at the very least a good thing.
Lastly, that data has Smokescale as 2nd. The bleeds on its auto and self-might from its Smoke Assault is obviously why it was able to kill faster than the others, but again, this data is for the lazy Ranger wanting a DPS pet instead tanking Bears.
For the rest of us that play Rangers above Bearbow’ism, this data can be ignored.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.

Sorry all for the confusion. For clarification this is NOT using their special ability. It’s simply their attack chain. Yes the Bristleback would kill it much faster. This was just a test of the moment the first strike till the target is dead.
