Pet wishlist (for the future)
Wind Riders, And Wyverns with attacks that matter.
Karka.
Because they will attach to it’s target and stay useful even on the move.
I want a Branded Devourer. And Arid Devourer. I want all the devourers.
Rabbit.
Less jokey, I’d love a Colocal.
I want a pet that reliably hits moving targets and doesn’t get nerfed into the ground
I want a pet that reliably hits moving targets and doesn’t get nerfed into the ground
So definitely a rabbit then.
Griffon. I am partial to the owl griffon myself.

Wait, are we talking ambient rabbit or the legendary white bunny from the beta weekend? Because I am so on board for the legendary white bunny.
Landsharks and Ponies.
Vinetooth. or a CC heavy like an arrowhead.
or that Legendary Wyvern Patriarch acid breath attack!
what about the pets we already have?
f1 pet skills to control their secondary mechanics (like the dogs knockdown)
Bad Elementalist
Basilisk would be my first pick, second would be the option to get some risen pets. Risen chicken anyone?
Interrupts and shutdowns. More “magic” F2 abilities in general. Maybe make some of the birds into ele types or something like that.
These are already in the game but not tameable.
Coyote, Dolphin, and Osprey
Dire Wolf, a revamped version of the current canine pet; can be introduced by us finding Garm after the events of HoT and Rangers have an option to tame him after Eir’s death
There you go Anet, I gave you a story, make it happen
Fox.
15 chars.
Personally, I’d most want them to do some upgrades to current pets so we don’t see everyone running Bristleback/Smokescale, especially in pvp. That said, I have a few suggestions-
-A badger or some form of giant/dire rat.
-Some of the less common monsters, like a basilisk or the behemoths in Ascalon.
-Snakes.
-Dolyaks or rams.
I’d like to have Snakes
Griffons – have wanted one since day one!
Griffons, Skelk, Skale, Bats, Raptors and Crustaceans would all be great options.
All of them already have multiple subtypes ingame.
what about the pets we already have?
Everybody gave up on those.
Gryphons (or whatever they are called in this game) for sure. However, I really wish that I could tame a tiger without having to go to HoT maps on a level 80 toon… A tiger was always my main pet in World of Warcraft, and now that GW2 has finally introduced one for Rangers…I can’t get it unless I am level 80. Very frustrating. Love WoW’s pet variety, but GW2 needs to give that same variety without locking low-level toons out of the choice. GW2’s pets are generally boring and uncreative, IMO.
Guild: Moonlit Renegades (Moon)
Highest-Level Toon: Markus Emmerich, 80 Human Scrapper
Turtle or hermit crab pet, with f4 that summons a dome that reflects projectiles.
Deer, and bats!
Giant Solifuges which would be a Melee Spider (model already exists as “Canyon Spider”, there’s also a pet icon too, but it’s used for the Cave spider that looks nothing like it)
All the Crabs available, Hermit and Cave Crabs
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
I want Trahearne as a pet. His f2 should be “Commander, a word?” and the other player is disappeared into an annoying quest.
Jokes aside I want better AI, pets that can hit enemy even if they move.
Before any new pet, I’d want a true fix on core pet. But, I could see :
- Griffins coming with an opening of the cristal desert, because griffins are super slow attacking mobs with a boring knockback.
- Wurms because it will feel useless enough to not cause any rant in PvP. Almost no movment speed while in combat and stupid retreat move that bleed and knockdown.
But, to prevent the complaint of most of the ranger community, I want an elite spec that remove the current pet list and summon instead spirit/golem type pets that don’t have to be tamed and, hopefully, are less flawed than what we got right now.
(edited by Dadnir.5038)
Can I get Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno… I mean… A fire bird, ice bird and thunder bird… ^_^
A slubling please
I would love to see an elite spec that gives rangers a little more tech based skills and access to several new golem pets/steam creatures.
Mostly I just want to see golem versions of animals and more varieties of steam creatures and a ranger that uses then as pets would be awesome
After seeing how wyverns turned out, I think we need to shift the discussion from what aesthetic pets do you want (what do they look like etc) to what kinds of mechanics make a good pet.
From what we’ve seen in HoT with the dominance of bristleback and smokescale, I think the priority in PvP seems to be the ability to hit a moving target and do decent damage (the damage is incredibly important for the bunker meta druids are forced to play atm). Bristleback burst lets you set up a spike and makes it harder for the target to avoid it, the range also helps with the poor pet ability to land an attack. Smokescale teleport is good for similar reasons, but the F2 also helps with stealth plays.
One area I think could use a lot of improvement is support pets. Pets with a primarily or entirely support tool kit. Something which heals on its auto attack (similar to ele water staff one or guardian mace one), that grants protection, maybe creates reflect fields, that cleanses condis etc. The fern hound and moas do a little of this, but there is a lot of room to create a dedicated support pet for players that don’t want or need the DPS but crave a pet that helps edge out their support builds.
UNICORNS to match my Dreamer and my unicorn finisher… Pretty please?
One of the smaller karka, they are so cute and just about the right strength.
Wind Rider, they look cool.
Illustrious Exhausted Primordial Legendary Druid, and Mesmer for fun
PvE | PvP (1500)| WvW | Fractals | Dungeons
Basilisk, Skelk (preferably Lurker), Minotaur, Griffon, Ornery Crab.
Basilisk
F2: Turn target to stone + immobilize for 2seconds. 900 range.
Stats similar to Drakes. High power, medium precision, medium toughness and vitality, lots of cleave. Also since Basilisks in-game have evades, I think they should have a similar built in evade in their attack chains.
Skelk Lurker
F2: Shadow step to target for a guaranteed critical hit. 1,200 range.
Amphibious.
Stats similar to Felines. Medium power, high precision, low toughness, medium vitality. Perhaps allow them the ability to stealth during their own attack chains to allow them to more easily avoid damage.
Minotaur
F2: Tackle target with a successive CC. Can remove 2 stacks of Stability as it hits twice. 600 range.
Stats similar to Canines. High power, medium precision, toughness and vitality. Make them fast our fastest pet, capable of sticking on top of people who have swiftness.
Griffon
F2: Fly, avoid all attacks for 6seconds, swooping every 2seconds.
Stats similar to Moas. Medium power, precision, toughness and high vitality. Make them like bears in the sense that they have a lot of defensive options in their attack chains but better damage. Maybe they have a heal type ability that activates when they get low health.
Ornery Crab
F2: Shelter, become immune to all damage while reflecting projectiles for 6seconds.
Stats similar to Bristlebacks. High power, medium precision, high toughness, medium vitality. Make them a reliable source of reflects and soft CC. F2 reflects + an attack of their own that also reflects. Maybe one that applies a lengthy cripple as well.
Of course most of these aren’t ideal pets but I wouldn’t want to just list a bunch of glass cannons. That and I really want a Skelk and Basilisk, lol.
Champion: Phantom, Hunter, Legionnaire, Genius
WvW rank: Diamond Colonel | Maguuma
I gotta say. ARENA NET IF YOUR READING. Gryphons man. Gryhpons are awesome. Just don’t do to them what you did to wyverns. Let them be awesome.
Edited because I apparently cant say something is kitten.
Oozes pleaase! They already exist in many variations (like moa’s) so they could add a bunch of them at once.
Golem pets for my asura. And a pocket raptor pack.
The Chickenado with an F2 skill that is a pull
or
A small pack of minature karkas that stick to your foes
:)
(edited by Barry Moonfang.6897)
pet young Karka would be amazing, and pretty easy to implement since its skillset as a creature can be copied almost identical with the projectile attack being f2
Fox.
15 chars.
Coyote for an f2 aoe poison/weakness shout maybe.
I hate the griffon/wind rider type suggestions. Hey let’s get Charr and skritt as pets while we are at it.
Lol, hands down…. The Honey Badger

I don’t want one as a pet, I want to be one irl!
So I was sitting here with my gf and we was looking at the pets we have in GW2 and ones we had in GW. Ended up making a list of pets with possible Skills. some are pretty open while some had skills and attributes that are already listed on beastiary .
=Saurian=
Bonebreakers : Knockdown 1.75 ct, 15sec rc, 900 rng.
Arrowhead: Bleed and cripple
Pocket Raptors: x3 since so small was thinking of making a single hit target of 3. Cripple and Fast dmg.
=Raptors=
Crested Raptor: Bite, claw, Chilled screech- cone aoe.
Eagle Raptor: Bite, claw, Berserk – dmg +20%.
Vulture Raptor: Bite, claw, Daze – cone aoe.
=Skales= (land and Sea)
Bog : Bite, claw, jab – extra dmg, Regen 9sec every 9 secs
Ridgeback : Bite, slash, smack -short knock-back, Devour -leaps dealing dmg + knockdown 4sec.

=Insects=
Giant Beetle: Bite, vulnerable from front, Trample -Dmg+knockdown pointblank in travel path, enemies launched over Beetle, 1.75 ct, 15sec rc, 900 rng.
Spotted Beetle: Bite, Poison spray -Poison+Dmg +3 stacks of vulnerability for 8sec, hits up to 8 times, 1.5 ct, 400 rng.
Forest Grub: Smack, charge, Poison spray
Luminescent Grub: Smack, bite, Burn
=Griffons= (all with bite, slash, fly)
Owl: Chilling (maybe like chilling mist or something)
Eagle: Bleeding, Cleave + knockdown
Hawkeye: percision buff. Dust storm -blinding.
=Crabs= (all move evasivly, Claw, blocks, regen) land and Sea
Hermit: Pincer Snap, Withdraw -blocks incoming Dmg + Regen 3sec or 3attacks, Aegis.
Cave: Water field -Radius 200, healing 10, periodically grants Regen and removes condition 1.
Arctic: Cold snap -chill per pulse (1s) -66 skill, -66 movement, Chill at start (3s) -66% target 5, pulse 5, duration 5, radius 240.
=Other animals=
Dolphin: (sea ) Echo -confusion, fast swimmer (I see it fitting between Shark and Armorfish stat wise)
=A return of animals from GW1=
Crocodile: seeing it serving as a tank with a short knockback.
Lion: seeing it calling in 2 more lions (hyena)
ct = cast time, rc = recharge, aoe = area of effect,
Not really a future pet but would like to see a light field and dark field incorporated into new pets F2 abilities. (Ethereal as well unless Reef Drake could be reworked to have its underwater combo field become one for land as well).
That way, Ranger would be the combo field master (with access to all combo fields in the game).
I honestly want to tame a Vinetooth or an Arrowhead. We have tiny bristlebacks, so I don’t see why not.
Skelks and Griffons would also be nice. They have a lot of variations in color/habitat so it’d be easy to add several kinds at once.
Basilisks too.
I want to fill out the rest of the pet roster. A Frost Spider with F2 Chill, an Arid Devourer that fires projectiles that travel along the ground knocking back foes (like in SW), and a Parasite Devourer that life leeches foes on F2.
Not good pets, but at least most of the roster would have 5 of each.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
I want a Teragriff !! But a bunny would be nice too.
