I feel like our pets have been sort of over-looked, and before everyone screams at me and the white knights show up hear me out.

One: Why cant my pet get armor? Throwing my pet into the thick of it with it being utterly unprotected?

Two: We should be able to upgrade our pets, and make them grow alongside us to create more of a “bond”. Keeping the pets as babies is just kinda lame, especially since some of the pets look utterly kittened? Look at the river and marsh drakes for example, they dont look anything like the wild ones you find roaming around. The river drake looks like sid the sloth from ice age? I dont want acute little wyvern, i want a decent sized maybe teen/adult wyvern that has around veteran/champ health. The pets should be able to tank and hold their own against mobs, more so than they do. They also like in guild wars one should grow with you, as you grow up and seem to level so do they.

Three: Customization, this way no two people have the exact same pet. For example if im using a Lion and my friend is using a Lion i can upgrade him so he will be a white lion, or perhaps a cave lion ((prehistoric big cat )). Maybe add war paint having to do with my race, or perhaps a creation screen once they hit max level? This way we can give them two toned eyes, a scar if we want. Maybe make their fur have different tints so we can see the difference, drakes should be able to become broodmother like things. And along with that their colors could change to a varying of different tones. This way each ranger/druid feels unique and special, maybe even have us choose from a select five skills as they grow? So we can say "Rather than fire breath, have fire charge " or something. Yeah is basically like pokemon but so what? It would be cool and i think it should be implemented.

I don’t know about ‘stronger’ (Though more pet defensive strength doesn’t seem like it’d break anything, they aren’t focus targets often), but cosmetic options would be spectacular, for sure. Some can’t reasonably be armored (birds) but most could, for a start.

They do grow and level with you though. They could maybe have their default name changed, but… I’m not so sold on them growing up.

Pet armors would be cool. I could see them being added as part of leather working for basic armors to be crafted and being able to sell them on Trading Post.

I could also see limited time and exclusive skins added to the Gemstore, and the really nice ones locked away in Black Lion Chests to squeeze a bit more coin out of Ranger players. Think of the possibilities…
