It’s even better for me! My pets attacks when passive AND ALSO it prevents my arrows to hit the target if it is between me and my target! AWESOME! Lets play it in WvW!
Agreed. Did an AC run. Pet kept running to the boss while I was trying to pull it and interfering. Hope they fix this asap.
Omg. HOW is this even possible?!? How in the world is it possible to mess pets up so that they are even WORSE than their previous crappy and buggy state? HOW???

Ya def needs a fix.. was nice to use my pets and have them go in when i wanted them, they are bad enough with the attacks and getting caught in aoe, at least let me tell them to go in when i want them too.
For passive mode this is how it works now.
If you target something and press auto attack(whether you actually hit your target or not), your pet attacks your target.
If you hit something not targeted(aoe, cleave), your pet doesn’t attack it.
If something hits you and you don’t hit them back while targeted, your pet doesn’t attack it.
Passive pet auto-attack isn’t random at all and seems like a good QoL change at least for me (no need to hit F1 for pet to start attacking your target when in passive mode).

For me personally this change seems more like another nuisance regarding pets. Dungeon runs have become far more tedious. If I want my pet to attack, I’d rather have the choice. And here he simply rushes in while I have to keep spamming the F3 button. Pets were annoying as is, but now they’re even worse for me personally at least.
My pet kept yelling: “For Great Justice” in a Charr voice when I press F2…
So now pet finally becomes playable race?
So whats the point of f1 if when u attack regardless your pet will go attack my target already.. If it is a change they intended i hope they revert it.. kind of annoying i can’t control my pet.. i have to worry enough about where it is going so it doesn’t die.. now i have to constantly call my pet back to me..

i sincerely hope it isn’t a “QoL change”. it removes basically half the control i have over my pets in sPvP (currently i can control both the knockdown and their F2)
I like the ability to have it not attack until i press F1, that’s the reason i put it on passive in the first place. now i need to spam F3 during fights or else he keeps running off and wasting the CD on his knockdown. it’s like if one of the guardian virtues just randomly went off if you autoattacked too much.
This needs to be fixed/reverted now. If I set my pet to passive I want it ON PASSIVE.
Because of this my pet is screwing up fights in fractals/dungeons by running around and agroing. This is awful.
I pray this is a bug, not QoL because this is awful. Just finished a fractal 50 where the pet did nothing but get in the way.

I have to agree. it’s bad enough mobs attack passive pets when i run past. Now they go ahead and attack regardless of being set to passive which is utter crap.
they should be giving us full control of when they engage not this half and half garbage.
Passive is flocked up – confirmed.
Bodyblocking player’s arrows – not confirmed. Checked on golems in HotM though. Maybe it’s a “feature” implemented for PvP (mocking nerf)
It kinda makes F1 useless, there should be Aggressive / Guard (Avoid Combat mode currently works like this) / Heel (totally passive unless manually targeted).

YES! After 2 fixes nothing changed about this issue! There are players that scream about less important things. We need to keep theese topics up!
Confirmed pets now do whatever they want.
Another patch and nothing about this again..
I dont understand how they can’t fix it, tbh its a game breaking bug for pvp wise.. can’t even use your pets they die in the first engage cause they run in and aoe die..
Guys support us on BUG forum, we need to scream about pet bug! There are lots of players which qq for less important problems! C’MON!!!

I wish we could at least get an answer… If they answered with something like “this is our new mechanic and how it is gonna work from now on”, I think it is better than no answer at all…

They need to put the “new passive” into “offensive”, and bring the old passive back. My red moa is all the way out there when I need fury. I don’t wanna have to spam F3 every time I’m in combat.
