This a collection of video I managed to get while trying out GC SB/LB setup (I eventually drop LB to try out GS with it)

The video doesn’t show all the times I was basically 2 shot by some random thief, or any fights where I fight multiple people (Because i’ll be instantly killed if there is more then 1 person)

A lot of times it was very frustrating trying to get this video because i have to play 10x better then everyone else to win usually.

Now with that out of the way, I wanna talk about a part of the video called “Technobabble”

This is a new concept of a build i’m working on, When is set out to make this video, I wanted to do something where I was CC heavy (so you’ll see me trying different abilities/pets in the video determining what works best) Since i’m squishy i want to lock down the target long enough for me to win.

So I was using Dogs and the Condition Duration increased for pets, and this was working quite well..

But one talent I kept wondering about was Moment of Clarity… This talent basically allows us to give our pets a damage bonus whenever we interrupt the target…But it also increases all Dazes/Stuns we do by 50%…

Now normally that’s not super impressive since we basically have GS and Shortbows 1 second daze…..

HOWEVER…if you play Asura wink wink…You get an ability called Technobabble, Technobabble is an instant cast 1200 ranger 2 second duration daze on a 45 second cooldown.

That got me thinking, I wonder how good that ability is when Moment of Clarity, and to answer your question, It instantly becomes a 4 second daze with you equip that talent..If you stack the Stun Duration Sigils and Mesmer Runes, it becomes a 5 second Daze (This is how S/D Thieves roll)

Your SB/GS dazes become 2 seconds when you do this as well.

This allows me to open on people, with multiple dazes, and to lock them down so i can kill them.

Now some classes can get out of this fairly easy (Thieves, they can just teleport or stealth and nothing you can do about it) but if you’re smart about it, you can pop a 5 second Daze when a class gets low and kill them before they figure out they’re not able to heal.

you could chain some crazy cc together with that kitten.

wolf knockdown > fear >petswap> hyena knockdown > hyena pet knockdown > shortbow daze > greatsword daze > technobabble >petswap> wolf knockdown> fear.

2+2>petswap>2+2+2+2+5>petswap>2+2……. 21 seconds of cc back to back.

Better hope you got some stability otherwise you gonna be kissing the dirt.

yeap, going to try and build a beefier set via pvt and knights gear and try it out..

gotta wait for Temple of Bath to open up though.

Yea, not doing a dungeon, I mean..I could make it right now..but I don’t wanna waste the cash on it when I have a metric of ton Karma (like over 90 Jugs of Karma at this point) I can spend on some jewelry instead.

So i’d just assume wait, Not like i’m missing out on it.

But once I get the armor/jewelry setup i’ll make a Technobabble video…

I have not, because I find Boars a pain in the kitten to use..

if those pigs were more like Thieves in their F2 ability I’d use them and find out..Till then i’m not going to bother, cause I know it’d be a huge pain.

Yeap, I’m hoping one day Anet will do that, It’d instantly make the Pig usable and one of the better pets.

I honestly think our Pet system is holding us back sometimes, I feel that We’re designed to have more utility then we do currently, but Anet decided to load this utility on pets and most of those pets simply aren’t very good, or flat out broken.

Honestly I’m annoyed that they changed the white Moa to a chill. White Moa + Fern Hound was great for a bunker as you had two sources of regen. Now we have a chill that never really lands on a pet from a family we really have no interest using.

Moas are decent in dungeons. 3k aoe heal + fury or protection every pet swap is nice and they are quite tanky.

my spirit ranger ran a perma prot/fury build. people needed to know to stack on the pets for the buffs, as the radius is much too small. the slow f2 casting makes things much worse. in pvp scenarios, it’s virtually impossible for your buddies to receive the pet buffs.

wish those Bal Temple would open up grin

let me know how LB works out with PVT/knight’s. im really tempted to try SB/LB with 2 fire sigils >drool< cuz LB has boss burst with quickness at 900 range or less.

I never really used LB so much for the damage, but more for that Knockback.
