I am tossing around the idea of trying out Bearbow. I am currently a SB(condition mostly) and I will admit I absolutely love the mobility that SB provides. Before anyone flames me let me say that granted with the new implementations to the talent trees and such I don’t do the damage that I am used to but I can still basically run pve content non stop with basically no downtime whatsoever. Also in pve content I am capable of from my test run this morning, of fighting between3-4 mobs that are between-4-6 levels higher than me. I can also do this when you through a elite or champion in the mix(I forgot what they are called) and again I have very little problem. So I rambled a bit I do apologize, my question is does Bearbow utilize a get out of dodge maneuver(such kitten has evasive shot which is good not only because it launches you backwards but more because it give you that speed boost-WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY LOVELY). If not then does it incorporate stuns or things like that to make up for the lacking of that get out of dodge maneuver? Well that is my question, the post got a bit long I do apologize.

Happy gaming

If you ever decide to do end-game content of any kind on your ranger you need to not run bearbow. Bearbow is the laughing stock of every build of every profession in all of GW2.

However if you really want to use it for levling, LB3 will allow you stealth and leave for a safer location, and LB4 will push enemies away. It would be faster to take one of the swords though. You will hit harder, faster and more enemies.

A little more, since maybe you just like bows (I use a longbow as a primary weapon in World vs World.)

In end-game PvE content, people want speed/damage and party support, and a LB offers neither. Bears offer almost zero damage as well.

In competitive play, bears again offer almost nothing, and LB is quite difficult to use against enemy humans. You can use LB against humans, but not in a “hide behind bear” type of way. You have to use every ability rangers have, and with more useful pets.

Well I have spent just about 30 minutes with Bearbow and as granted I am only learning the rotation on Blue Moa’s out in BloodTide Shore but so far this is what I have noticed. SB shoots alot faster, from my timer about 2.5 seconds, so I would anticipate in end-game PVE content that 2.5 seconds plays a crucial role. Another aspect that I am noticing is the lack their of for conditional applications which makes it a bit longer to kill. Those SO FAR are the only negatives that I have encountered. As for positives I have to say that even though I just began with LB the damage is a bit higher than SB(Although again SB shoots faster.. *cry) and another thing that I am noticing is that well ill just put the rotational order below this and well give your feedback.

F1(attack bear), Rapid shot(for the vulnerability stacks) * I JUST SKIP LONG RANGE SHOT ALL AROUND as it just don’t seem to serve any purpose. At this point bear is on the mob tanking like a boss(yay). Next I pop the stealthy shot thing just for the boon that it applies. Then the mob dies and i begin again. Now again I am going to try it in pvp but I have to respec totally(thank god its free) because I am totally geared towards conditional damage. In pvp I(only level 45) tend to get alot of kills because of two reasons. 1: I kite and I kite very hard(I spin circles around npcs, i dodge(ALOT and i rarely miss) I also whenever it is available use the quick concussion shot to the side of the players head, this allows me to use evasive shot to get a bit of range(For those kitten warriors) and also to get the nice speed booster(AGAIN TO RUN AWAY FROM WARRIORS). By this time the whole team has come to help the warrior who is qq’ing because he either A: Cannot hit me due to me absolutely abusing my evasive shot or b: Abusing the dodge system HARD.

I basically in pvp just annoy the player enough were he either A: Runs off due to frustration or B: Calls a warrior to TRY to chase me down and stomp me lol.

In pvp i get most of my kills because(YES IM A KSER SO DEAL WITH IT, IM LEVEL 45 IN 25 GEAR) I just again annoy the player until a big damage dealer like a warrior or a mage come into the situation then I just wait( I play smart). Once they drop to about 45 percent, (During this whole time bear, used to be spider for the weakening venom) is annoying them with stuns, paralyzes, etc) i basically unload on them apply conditions, run in drop spike trap, evasive shot backwards for the speed buff. then stun etc etc.

So this is my so called pvp strategy but it is again SB but I will again try LB and see what happens. Thanks again Fluff.

This is all in SB though so yea I am going to see how LB works in pvp, I probably will not use it long and go back to SB
