Rangers, you guys rock. And your videos are amazing…

…when they can actually be viewed from mobile devices.

I was bummed that the day I didn’t have my laptop and browsed forums from my tablet, none of the newly posted videos didn’t have playback. The message was always: “The content owner has not made this video available on mobile.” Dunno why mobile has to have a big deal about these things..

I think this video provides the proper fix, but it might be temporary b/c these uploaded videos are so-called copyrighted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYKndPcCXm0

Since these types of videos are primarily machinima (a film technique used to tell a story), always remember to give credit where credit is due (whether to the video game company or the musical artists). And it’s honestly better to use original music or those licensed under creative commons, especially in the case of disputed content.

Hey, quick fix for you.

If you’re on your phone and it says that. Copy and past the link into your web browser. Once you do that, look for the option to switch to “desktop” or “full site”. You should be able to watch anything you want then.

Make sure you’re not in your youtube app or whatever. It’s how I watch stuff on my iphone.

If you add music the “owners” of that music decide if
A) allow your vid to stay up but they earn all the profit from the views.
B) if its allowed to be viewed on mobile devices.

Basically we have no real say on it unless we get picky on the music which i wont unless it is straight up blocked on youtube.

Yea messing with copyrighted music is stepping on a fine line as it is risky business. Glad that everyone’s vids is still up, though.

Confirmed that it works, at least on my tablet. Go to the youtube app menu, and then switch to desktop view. re-paste link in address bar and it will open the video, which can be finally viewed. stupid mobile!

If any of you guys have ipads/iphones, see if this applies to you as well.

Everytime i upload one I can’t find this option for my friends that use mobile devices?

No luck with these options on my iPhone…can’t find the desktop option.
