Please sync Clarion Bond to petswap
At least you will be able to reduce the ICD of the trait to 24s using the trait Windborne Notes. Clarion Bond functions like every other skill triggering trait in this game, sharing the same cd like the triggered skill, but also effected by cd reduction traits. To get the trait with lower cd, the trait has to be reworked like this: You will no longer trigger Hunters Call, instead you get just the blast finisher at pet swap without other effects.
Please sync everything.
Internal Cooldowns tied to the events that drive them should be the standard.
I’m sure it’s the result of intricate reasoning on the back-end, but in practice it all just feels so clunky.

I agree.
Suggestion: If you think this is OP, slightly increase the CD on pet-swap to balance the class and leave it in sync w/ Clarion Bond.
The trait was interesting and worked well w/ some of the new ranger mechanics and traits; the change seems like a knee jerk reaction and takes away our ability to use it as part of group and combo strategy. During a fight these two can get very out of sync.
Do not increase the cooldown on a core class mechanic just to balance a single, optional trait. Reduce the cooldown to 15 seconds. Let us have our blast finishers and perma fury/swiftness. It only works in combat anyway.

I don’t think your fellow rangers want to get the pet swap cd increased to 24s just to sync it with this trait. ^^
But still, it’s logical that they did implement the 30s cd. To get a 15s cd you have to give up something the original skill Hunters Call is providing, like this trait isn’t giving fury anymore.
This or you have to fix ALL other traits, which trigger an existing skill. It’s easier to get the rangers trait in line with the others than getting all other traits in line with ranger ones.
Clarion Bond should be synced with pet swap. Change it to 10 secs for the buffs if you guys think perma fury is OP.
This current version is very clunky and frankly unwarranted since your DPS is interrupted and gets reset every time you swap pet.
Not to mention if the pet is dead and you’re forced to blow a buff in order to get access to your 2nd pet. Problems like this should NOT be a side effect of taking a trait in the beast mastery line.

That seems over the top to me. Why on earth should we increase the CD on pet swap for the sake of clarion bond? Now that would be a truly knee jerk reaction if Anet did that and I hope they don’t.
There is no need to change the trait. It’s linked already to too many exclusions:
- You have to be in combat
- Linked to pet swap (that could be 15 secs or 40…)
I still can’t believe this, after all the nerfs we have and they still nerfing around.
rather have clarions bond every two pet swaps that way i know which pet will be out when the blast happens.
and a lot of people forget its linked to Call of the wild so you’d have to Alter the off-hand warhorn cooldown too , if you want cooldown changes.
ps it wasn’t a nurf it always had a 30sec cooldown in the tooltip it was just that the ICD was not linked or correctly applied .
so the bug fix was Added ICD to clarion bonds , although the tooltip was correct.
I agree.

Wow. This was probably the worst suggestion I’ve read in a long, long time in the ranger forums.
A big -1 for this.

I fail to see how getting it once every other pet swap is positive in any way compared to every pet swap. You could get the effect every pet swap, and in turn get it on the pet you want it on in addition to your less desirable pet.
It’s just clunky and it’s current form and it makes Remorseless trigger less, which in my opinion was the fun and gameplay changing build I’ve always wanted.

That also means you started to play a build you didn’t want.
The 30 sec. CD part of the trait was designed ever since implemented. If they change it – I’ll be glad. If they don’t – I wouldn’t mind.
I expected it to work that way regardless. I found it way too exploitable with 15 sec CD. It basically said “F@#k you” to Warhorn. If you use the trait and warhorn – you now get 100% uptime and both blasts.
If you want to address something – address Call of the Wild. Not Clarion Bond.
I find it strange that people want adept trait to be 200% of a Weapon’s Ability.

People have been asking for a shorter cooldown on Call of the Wild since… forever

And anet refuses to give it to us because reasons. I suspected it’s because rangers have access to a majority of different combo fields, and they wanted “synergy” between classes by giving us lots of fields but few blast finishers.
I stopped suspecting that after I witnessed a thief steal a seed pod from a monster, use it, then blast the water field 5 times in a row with his shortbow. Or watching a LH ele drop one of their many fields and blast it into oblivion.

Totally agree, but this is also why I suggested to reduce the duration of the buffs from Clarion Bond. It’s difficult to find a correct balance between both issues.
Out of curiosity, would anyone be really opposed to Clarion Bond not casting the Warhorn skill anymore but instead just giving a couple of different buffs for a few seconds? Or what about some stat increases like 100 power and 10 seconds of fury?

How about giving Call of the Wild 3 might instead of 1?
That 1 might is as much of a joke as the Nature’s Vengeance’s contribution to Frost Spirit.
I personally like it to be Call of the Wild. It has some nice synergy with Nature Magic talent tree. And I was really curious if a supportive build with double blasts and Windborne Notes can be made.
I didn’t really forced myself into a brainstorming, though. I was hoping I could get a synergy of spirits with this, but spirits are just plain bad for PvP atm.
I believe the 30 sec. cooldown on a pure utility ability (not offensive because perma fury is already there and might isn’t noticed, not defensive but a pure utility one) should be rewarded with something meaningful.
I don’t remember considering Warhorn as a full-time weapon. I only keep it for out of combat speed boosts. The weapon in combat is useless and yet it could be such a nice hybrid weapon with all the on-hit procs (16) with utility purposes.
But it needs the love. It’s not Clarion Bond that needs a look-at. It’s the Warhorn.
