Pow or Condi?
Unless you’re going for a legendary, it’s hard to waste karma since this game tends to give you more than you can ever use, but honestly the gear you want won’t come from the karma vendor.
You’ll almost always want most of your gear with Berserker stats. Some people swear by using full berserker sets, but personally, I run with a 3 Soldier (power/tough/vital) pieces to supplement my berserker gear.
However, in the end, it will depend on what build you’re running as to what suits you best.
I believe the better you get the more you lean towards higher damage as it becomes easier to stay alive from skill. However, at some point you are going to want to play condition ranger since there are so many viable condition builds. I’d say get both.
Am I good?… I’m good.
I used to run as a condition build. I had no issues and did well with it. But after a while I noticed that the 25 bleed stack limit hindered my DPS. If my condition damage wasn’t higher than other characters condition damage when attacking the same target, there ticks took precedence. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or if ANet hasn’t fixed how condition damage works with multiple opponents. So I wanted to be sure that my damage is always going to be consistent and went semi zerker route.

many of these answers seem pve orientated, for pvp i find condition dmg is on par with other classes (i think?), whereas direct damage is extremely low as it seems they nerfed it to take into account pet dmg.
Well, even if you wanted condition damage, I’d still recommend going with power instead of precision.
