Guild Wars 2

I know this game is currently in a cd meta, and rangers don’t scale well with power, but I wanna hear your opinions on ranger power builds (not zerker) and their effectiveness in spvp, wvw, and pve.

I use a relatively high power melee power build with valkyrie amulet in SPvP. I run it mostly for fun, but it doesn’t do too badly.

S/D and GS with 10/0/30/0/30. Sitting at about 2150 power and using sigil of accuracy+runes of the pack my damage isn’t terrible. I’ll be the first to admit that my build isn’t optimal, but it’s fun for me.

Power rangers in general are not very good at dps though if they aren’t running berserker stats.

Power builds work well, except in 1v1s where condition damage and survivability is king. For power builds I tend to use something along these lines:
WvW
GvG
For fun, the chill build, which can be used for 1v1s to decent effect also.

I currently run a build with similar stats than Erro, but I went with pvt armor knight trinkets and valkyrie weapons. I do change piercing arrows and eagle eye around. I think my setup may be less expensive to acquire, but its pretty much the same. 2k+ toughness with 20k hp and 2k+ power is really good.

Unless you want to equip a Longbow instead of Sword as maim weapon, you won’t do that bad.
