what we become later only depends

My question here is fairly simple. I’ve been using a condition damage build with sword/dagger, and shortbow. If I switched gear and traits into a more power build, would the sword/x and shortbow be better or worse?
I guess I’m asking does a sword/x and shortbow need condition damage or will they still be useful with power/prec stats instead?
Shortbow and Sword can work with either build, so no issues there.
For power:
All can work. It just depends on what you want from your offhand.
Personally love the axe as on off hand with the sword. Deflect projectiles while damaging those near by. Plus a nice ranged attack to close the gap
Thanks for the responses. I messed around in the mists some with it and just wasn’t really sure what other people’s opinions on it were. I’ll give it a shot.

They will work much better with power/prec instead of condition, higher dps and also better for groups in general, plus it won’t take you a year to break objects/siegeweapons for when/if you need to do that.

Interesting. What about Rampagers? Or would I just be better going for berserker and calling it a day?

Sure why not, berserker is probably the higher damage in most situations but rampager works as you easily apply conditions with both weapon sets.
