Power rangers
I doubt it, at least not this year.
The thing is, the Condition Bunker build fits the devs’ design philosophy.
The bunker builds are alright but if you want to contribute damage at all I think raw damage is the way to go for Ranger. For pure condition specs, Ranger is toward the bottom of the pack. So yes, there is such a thing and it’s mildly viable.
It would really help if the shortbow’s range was restored to 1200 or perhaps they added a trait to increase it.
I run a power ranger with 3.8k att 25k hp 69 crit dmgg
and 916 toughness I would assume?

In PvE berserker rangers are in high demand. In WvW roaming, power rangers are very strong although they are moderately difficult to learn. In sPvP they — as almost all power builds are — are not that great because the entire idea is to stand in one place and not die. That said, I’ve played berserker s/d+gs for hundreds of games in sPvP and it does just fine.
Honestly, I think both the condi camps and the power camps (me) are wrong. Rangers do really well at half condi, half power, half pet. All up in yo’ face every which way. (For competitive play, obviously for PvE you go berserker.)
You know… without this Crit reduction BS, pet adjust and with the upgraded Lightening Reflexes, I would be still fine. Even without the needed fixes what will possibly come out as GM trait for the sense of no-logic.
But now what? Won’t I be solo a Supply Camp? A condition dude who makes my HP disappear mutch faster than physical dmg? (lol those are not OP they think?!?)
Can I kill a trashmob in good time at all??
Maybe I end up chatting in LA and do nothing, since I won’t really enjoy anything they offer from that on…

Condition damage should’ve been more of a DoT really. Less cleansing, less condition spam (no applying on AA, only other weapon skills) and less damage overall.
The conception of Conditions was pretty classic – players using them need good survability so they have 1-2 bonus defensive stats. But as it stands now, conditions are very bursty. If you’re not bursty with your conditions, they get cleansed quickly. Failed concept.
As for Power Ranger – It is and should be okay as a Melee Power ranger using S/A+GS. But I lost hope for any play with Bows. Only semi-viable thing is spamming aa on SB in power spec but it’s so lame and boring that I can’t stand it.

Conditions can be total OP. I’ve met a a necro yesterday in the ruins and full stack of nearly every conditions was on me. 10k HP disappeared and high degen.
IMO conditions shouldn’t be a spammable thing, just as you say. Those are additional effects, not main damage things basicly.

In PvE? We already are. We bring spotter and frost spirit to the group, no other class can offer those buffs.
Coupled with steady fury boon and a really long water field, I say we’re pretty handy.
Go full Celestial with some mixed in gear of your preference(rabbid/knights). I can switch through all of our available weapons and still beat most people, and it’s fun.
In PvE go full zerk, it’s already been proven we are one of the best DPS classes.

the free space on Trait is for the new cond remove on surv skills.
maybe swap some of the knights for cavalier depending on how much fury you can get from surv skills with the trait

I should’ve specified.. I love my ranger in pve. and in organized dungeon runs Sw/ throws out a ton of damage. I meant spvp wvw specifically, in wvw while I can do okay, I feel that I have to try much harder to be useful than say on my ele/mes/theif
Errr try more then on ur ele? You might be use to playong ele because ele needs alot more put in to the class for output compared to ranger. Not saying its bad just with the rotations and everything theres alot more dmg split in elements so elehavr to put in work. And spirit rangers hrlp in wvw and trappers but not as much as eles do imo

Try a CoF dungeon with Zerk ranger, and most of the time you will be kicked.
Zerk Ranger can work in WvW with Greatsword (follow commander)
and longbow (for siege/ranged combat)
I feel your pain op. You can build a power ranger to be strong at 1v1’s, heck I won my first 1v3 last week (one was an uplevel) but as soon as I join a group, I feel like any other class would be more useful due to:
1. lack of cleave.
2. lack of burst.
Try a CoF dungeon with Zerk ranger, and most of the time you will be kicked.
Been doing CoF twice daily for over a year and I’ve never once been kicked. You are probably not up on the current dungeon meta. Do you run a longbow by any chance?
Rangers provide buffs no other class can, and thus are in fairly high demand. Not gonna beat a dead horse here, just read up on dungeon running.
