Protect Me
That would essentially make it a 6s invulnerability, during which time we could still use all our other skills. It would be a little too OP, even wit hthe downside of your pet taking the damage for you.
Gunnar’s Hold
Well, we’d basically lose our pet for this seconds, so it’s a kinda big downside in my opinion.
Would be nice, I agree with OP. It wouldnt have to remove the conditions, just make the damage tick on the pet instead. I guess the idea is the pet is body blocking blows, not magically absorbing damage.
alts: Fangyre (Necro), Hardrawk (Ele);
Jade Quarry
I still think the ability should be more rewarding for it’s cooldown.
Sacrificing a noticeable portion of our dmg as well as it’s utility for 6 seconds of invulnerability is not OP at all.
Since we are rangers that is. We’ll hardly ever take the target to even 50% hp for the duration of 6 seconds. Not to mention it lowers our DPS since our pet doesn’t attack and it stops point capping, too.
It sounds fair for it to do exactly what it promises to do.
Well… that skill isnt as good as it should be, like Regnum said – so i agree.
Plus, we have to watch, that we dont hit that skill when our pet is killed already or low hp
and on the other hand we are already disadvantaged enough from not capping and no pet-attacks in this time and that shouts arent very useful at all.
6 seconds of direct damage mitigation is very powerful in small scale fights. I’ve closed out several fights because I can kind of carelessly hack away with my sword while my wolf, Buster, just gets smacked in the face. Combined with RaO, it provides stability and damage mitigation to stomp people when you’re outnumbered.
I think a better way to improve this skill would be to grant boons to your pet for the duration. Six seconds of protection and retaliation, or something.
Shouts… Like, when you use “guard”. People will just pass by your pet. Guard should be an area denial of some sort.
