Protect Me and conditions
Either its broken or the tooltip is wrong o.O it looks like the game treats the player character in the same category as invulnerable.
Doesnt work with AoE either

If you’re going by how other forms of “invulnerability” work, it’s working the same.
However, since “Protect Me” can result in our pet being killed, I agree with you that it would be nice for it to handle conditions too in order to balance out this trade-off.
From an RP perspective though … your pet can’t really protect you from poison you’re already suffering from.
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.
It is not working the same as invulnerability, which prevents oncoming conditions. Protect Me is useless against oncoming conditions.
I do not think it’s fair that Protect Me should prevent conditions already applied; I want Protect Me to prevent conditions that are applied AFTER it is activated.
I was surprised that the massive bleeds of an opposing Ranger’s short bow and lynx still affected although I used Protect Me beforehand. Additionally, I’ve tested with a friend using a thief with blind, poison, cripple, bleed, and immobilization; despite using Protect Me, those conditions still affected me.
I thought the only invulnerability skills that aren’t affected by oncoming conditions are mist form and elixir S. I believe ours functions like the warriors stance (you can still apply conditions to the warrior during their invulnerable stance as well).

Oh ok. Well, that is also how Warrior’s Endure Pain works as well. You can hit them and apply conditions to them while it is active so it is not very useful against condition builds.
Honestly, the more I play my Ranger instead of my Mesmer, the more I’m convinced that 6 Runes of Melandru are the way to go.

It doesn’t make sense that the direct damage from an attack is mitigated through Protect Me, but the secondary condition effect from an attack still magically applies. My pet takes an arrow for me, but somehow I still get cut. Please don’t respond by saying a lot of things in this game don’t make sense.
Now that you bring up the Warrior, I think Endure Pain should prevent oncoming conditions as well. Please read the wiki’s statement on invulnerability: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Invulnerability
EDIT: I am just saying the same thing over again. I just can’t tell whether you agree or not.

Then don’t say stuff like that.
This is an MMO, you can get literally slashed threw with a greatsword and get nothing more than a scratch if the guy isn’t wearing the right jewelry of all things. You see stuff like that on a, quite literally, second by second basis.
It’s an MMO, it doesn’t make sense
And endure pain…. ugh I hate the idea of a nigh uncounterable invuln for 6~ seconds. That’s not only crazy powerful but also one of the worst types of mechanics to put into PvP… one with extremely narrow counters… it stops people from being able to adapt to the situation and actually use the tools they have in their spec TO DO kitten.
Without that PvP becomes as silly as WoW’s…
On topic though, protect me, I’d like it to take conditions, I actually run it on my tourny setup, I’d more like a massive CD drop though (like to a 15~ second since the main crux of the skill is still having your pet alive and well, it’d make it more versatile and would make more tanky pets much more viable)

Tooltip does say ALL damage. So i would assume it would also be conditions.
Sadly it does not work that way.

Sadly anet does not understand what all means.

The tooltips are all kinds of screwy in this game though lol.
