Looking to get your opinions on stacking up some condition damage and using shortbow or axe to keep some (~5) stacks of bleeding on a target.

For general PvE, would i be better served to just go for power/precision and deal more damage with my attacks?

I’m starting to think this would be better since normal mobs drop pretty quick and it takes quite a bit to get a decent amount of condition damage.

So far im using my ranger with my long bow..and i used both the power and precision in which that people will think that i m dying a lot which is not..more power and more precision + bleed is going to kill the enemy much faster..if any agro monster coming near u thats when the trap is going to be usefull…just continue with your build..but later stage in much higher level zone dont forget to use your traps..it can save your butt a lot..believe me..

SB, Axe+Warhorn is the best combo I have come across yet (I have tested more combos than I can remember). With this build you can go either power/precision or condition/toughness. As for PvP, right now I think condition/toughness is the only way to roll a ranger because we lack burst damage altogether unless the enemy allows you to land every attack with QZ active. With power/precision you will kill enemies faster because it takes some time to apply conditions, but condition/toughness gives you insane tankyness and nearly equal dps overall if you can quickly apply your conditions and weapon swap. Simply blow the warhorn, split axe and chill axe, then swap to SB and try to stay behind the enemy for bleeds. If you want insane condition damage drop the warhorn and pick up a torch and use the bow for targets you want to be farther away from.

If you are still leveling up I would recommend power/precision so you can quickly kill most monsters. Know that veterans and champions will be more difficult to solo since they can soak large amounts of damage.

I play a condition damage/trapper ranger, also focused on toughness and power, but sadly I cannot get those 3 stats on any same item. I am either forced to choose between precision and power (for a precision/toughness/condition damamge) or vit/toughness (with a power/vit/condition damage stat set). Right now I use the latter, and take the extra vit, even though I have the superior rune of the undead on my armor that give me toughness and condition damage and a percent of my toughness back as condition damage.

Do you think there is any compelling reason why I should switch from my Power/Vit/Condition damage set over to a Precision/Toughness/Condition Damage set?

Yes I rely mostly on my traps, but when waiting on CDs I like having a decent amount of power, and am really hesitant to instead forgo the power in favor of precision, so that I can hit harder only some of the time.

Thoughts?

PS…I REALLY REALLY wish I could find Power, Toughness, and Condition Damage paired on items.

Precision/Toughness/Condition Damage is way better than Power/Vit/Condition Damage, for the reason crits all have a chance to apply bleeding, and even moreso if you have a Superior Sigil of Earth on your weapon. You essentially apply 1 stack of bleeding on every crit between the 10 point trait and the sigil.
