I won’t sit and chit-chat about cons and pros. The only two times I lost a 1v1 with this build was against a skilled zerker ele and a skilled guardian with spirit weapons.

Majority of 1v1 are wins, the others are ties.

Healing spring dishes out about 35k healing + 1k from rune. <- The pupeteer realized that this is incorrect. Forgive me for my stupidness please. The healing spring heals for a little bit over 12k.
Swap to axes gives another 1k
About 200 hp/sec passive regen + 6 sec invulnerability that won’t kill the pet because 3k armor.

When fight starts, throw that torch and switch weapon set before the hot torch hits the head of your little toy. Throw that icy axe at him and shotgun him with over 9000 axes. Use the advanced aerodynamics of the dagger to evade and poison the puppet and then throw it in his face from 0 inches. Switch to your other set of puppet killer weapons and place your bonfire to make the puppet warm, we don’t want it to have a cold after the icy axe, do we? When that’s over, just keep using your skills as you see fit. Don’t forget to switch weapons whenever you can.

Our little puppet will be full of conditions and we will not be, because we have a strange bond with our pets. The pets like to feast on the 3 conditions it gets for free every 10 seconds.

(Stuff left blank (e.g. no sigils) doesn’t matter, use whatever pets you see fit, change to cleric’s amulet if you don’t want that much healing.)

Isn’t think just the standard BM bunker that’s been used for half a year? it’s good though no doubt about that, but 35k from healing spring? typo?

Really? Hmm…. At least I found it by myself.

No typo! 5.9k initial healing. Healing spring lasts 15 seconds, applies regen every 3 seconds a total of 5 times. With this build, it applies 4.5 sec of regen with 6.2k heal. 6.2k * 5 is 31k.

That would mean you get healed for 1377 per tick…
Doesn’t that seem… you know… just a little bit too much for you?
The 6.2k is actually the total healing if you recieve all 5 stacks.

1377/5=275
Thats the amount of health you should recieve per tick of regeneration.

with out being sounds like an kitten , where is the fun in this setup ? , being able to heal out anyones damage thats cool yeah but no fuin in it :/

I bet most thiefs are going to tell you that you most probably have fought only bad thiefs so far. Because the 1vs1 crown is reserved for these guys. And be asured that ANet will “fix” Rangers to keep things “balanced”

I am curious about how they will do that…

I dunno about the 1v1 crown. I will not believe it unless I see the best players of each class fght eachother

rangers can beat thiefs no problem .
my best friend has a thief and we did pvp 1vs1 since the game begun and because i now know what move looks like what i can dodge use pet for fear on the right times and immoblise with entangle and muddy Terran

tbh i think the thief is a great support class , but running away like to heal up and try again is what they do so ahh who cares at less we can get more drops in a wvw zerg fight :L

they borth have valid points i would say

not to sure about the builds yeah theys good for protection and healing , but no damage i like to be able to kill someone fast so they are like wtf happend there lol

Hard counter would be burst Guardian (more than you’re full HP per burst rotation if she pulls it off), and a stalemate would be regeneration ranger (cleric gear).

The zerker ele killed you because thats how you counter bunkers, you need to spec burst and blow them up..thats also how you counter phantasm member…

My tactic against phantasm is to wait until there are a lot of them and use entangle. As a plus, I always try to place bonfire so that it affects them too.

Rangers are very good against mesmers imo, the pet always smells out which one is the real one.
