Guild Wars 2

Hi all first of all thanks fo reading my post i do hope I’m making sense here, I had left guild wars for about a year due to RL and recently returned to see the new updates and the ranger got nerfed so hard my ranger is level 80.

I want to start my ranger using Pvp/Wvw so I’m looking for a good build greatsword/axe warhorn that will do both this is where I get confused as what to use condi/ damage/power/ etc I know ranged should maybe have more power not sure if I’m right.

Does anyone have any up to date guide on ranger builds one that would help me with PvP Wvw and allow me to get the sigals and stuff to go with the build

Ok all so after looking online I decided to try make my own build based on PVE and for dungeons, to be able to do some damage and also regen heal myself, again I’m a noob at builds so please any comments helps.

I’m using along with regular skills for longbow axe/warhorn

Water spirit, search and rescue, guard, protect me using these shouts and the water spirit and protect gives me 12 seconds regen which stacks every second so about a minute of regens to health, also with my pets regenerate howl this helps.

For my main traits I have picked the following below in the pictures.

I have not setup my armor yet only have the Pve armor I had when I hit lv 80 and done my armor over a year ago which is below all with Dolyak runes each armor piece

[Berserker’s Privateer Hat of the Dolyak][Berserker’s Sneakthief Shoulderguards of the Dolyak][Soldier’s Rubicon Coat of the Dolyak][Berserker’s Noble Gloves of the Dolyak][Shaman’s Rogue Pants of the Dolyak][Berserker’s Noble Boots of the Dolyak]

So I’m unsure where to go from here or if i need better armor or runes you can see my power toughness etc from the picture hopefully someone might have some helpful tips for me thanks in advance

Welcome back, ranger is in a better spot now than before. With the right traits u can be fairly defensive on a full berserker gear, so that u may use the same gear in pve/dungeons too. I got some footage in my chan if u want to look at 1 or 2 longbow variants.

GS is 100% power and axe is condi, so that’s a bit of a weird combo if you intended to roam with it. 1v1 an axe does very very little power damage. It can be decent against 2 targets, i.e. another ranger and his pet if they are close enough for the bounce (not likely since most people run LB.)

Water spirit is just atrocious. Any of the other heals is drastically better.

If you want the standard for builds, you can always check out metabattle.com. Even though your weapon combo won’t be on there since it isn’t generally used, you can pick up some ideas about utilities and what not.
