Pvp-Your fav build? Does it fit the 'Meta'?
This is the build I feel fits the current meta. It has worked wonders with my team so far in the AG tournaments and other teams began playing the build I am using aswell after winning week after week. With the traits set up you can easily go from Marauder or Zerker and still be tanky while doing great damage.

I’ve been having a lot of fun with Remorseless Beastmastery pet-oriented Shout build:
Good damage, burst, support, wins pretty much every 1v1 aside from DD Celeele.
There are couple VoDs of me playing it on my twitch channel (you have link in signature if you’d like to see some action).
[SALT]Natchniony – Necromancer, EU.

I run this:
Intelligence PoS/Maul and pet Burst. Very good survival, drake practically static unless I need a Fear or To Save drake after “protect me”
Can generate some huge Damage numbers and great sustain. Also works very well with Crusader but I prefer Cav for the ferocity and bigger kitten umbers on weapon swap
Vol I – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9klT6bLDew
Vol II – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqgHkV327sM
I technically run my variation of Rabid survival (using spike trap).
About fitting the meta – anything is meta if it fulfills it’s purpose.
Roles you need for the team:
~ Bunker
~ Balanced Fighter
~ Decapper
~ Roamer (+1 oriented with mobility, bursty)
~ Supporter point-fighter
~ Duelist
If your build deals AoE damage so high that it beats most 1v1 builds and offers CC and mobility – that’s all you really need for meta.
Thanks for the replies.
These are the two builds I have spent the most time with, at least in PvP. I stayed away from LB because I thought it wasn’t ideal (noob weapon etc etc)
Maybe I was wrong.
First build, full condi trapper. Lot of fun, condi burst. Healing spring is great because it removes all condis and helps team mates. No defense against ranged opponents, no stab, and slow movement speed make it less than ideal. I don’t think it fits into any of the roles that Tragic mentioned. It;s good 1v1 but it doesn’t have good movement.

The second condi bunker. No traps. sw/torch Axe/Dagger. I have mixed feelings about this. It has performed really well and at times all the survivability hasn’t done anything. Is this just a kitten Guard.

I tried your build first. Not crazy about the dmg or the style of play. Fought an engi, eventually melted by condis. Probably my skill lvl. How do you usually start fights?

Having good success with this build.
I’ve played it before in wvw, but not much in spvp.
The range. I know its always been there, but it’s not as helpful imho in wvw as it is in pvp.
The icing on the cake is the quickening zephyr. I always thought of it as being greedy.
Like, LB already pew pews but now I can do it faster?
But I’ve seen the light, quickness stomp is amazing!

High Condition damage, access to condi bomb, various ways to keep the player inside my Bonfire. Also a decent survival.
Clear Weakness = diamond skin ele.
Thanks Tragic!
Condi Longbow— Definitely looks fun. And with a trap and survivability. Awesome.

It’s a Shortbow, but I manged to forget to swap my 2nd weapon set (LB) for Shortbow one game. It might work at some cases. I managed to beat a Mesmer with it (but he had zero condi removal).
It has way more utility but much less condi pressure (Sharpened Edges scale well with #5 and #2).

You’re gonna have a hard time with that little condi clear, especially now when a lot of professions are running condi builds.
I actually run something similar and it feels really strong. I rarely lose 1v1’s with it.

I run a BM shout build very similar to Rym’s, though I prefer sword over axe for greater mobility (also, it’s harder for the enemy to focus on my pet when I’m leaping at them). Very strong in 1v1 against power specs and single-condition specs burn guards, but against specs with heavy doses of multiple conditions, things get difficult.
This when I’m solo yolo’ing, the Remorseless wombo combos are too much fun. Some times switch to a variant of the WS NM BM build when I do do team queues or face premades.
Depends what you mean by meta, I guess. The meta-battle builds don’t really fit my strategy for Ranked PvP (fighting and surviving on point) so I shy away from them. Carrion Survival is the best one they have listed.
Edit: Here is the build I use: Evasive Settler
This build excels at dueling and defending side points. Don’t let that fool you, though. It has the right stuff for protracted group fights as well. By far the strongest conquest build I’ve found. Lyssa runes can be swapped for Dwayna runes and geomancy sigils for generocity sigils—if you think you will be facing a plethora of burn guards or dd elems.
The energy sigils are key to survival, so don’t remove those. 100% uptime on protection is the key to keep hp above 90% which pretty much shuts down most direct damage dealers.
Illustrious Exhausted Primordial Legendary Druid, and Mesmer for fun

Not my normal build but I was having fun with this yesterday http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQJARTjUqQLL2wCmsAVLGyEKPxTgG/rhF4x7kNAOgCWFB-TJBFABiXGggLBAAPBg52fAA
Having 3 pets harassing them and body blocking is pretty hilarious, especially when I keep making them drop target by stealthing or using BW.
More so bunker but I’m using this 90% of the time.
