Q: About the Changes to Healing Specs
Hello All (mostly ArenaNet),
I just want to say, thank you for all the hard work you put into this game. I have a few concerns about the combat system in GW2: HOT and if possible, could you address them?
The reason, Guild Wars 2 is currently all about the Zerker meta is because:
1. Healing itself was consider absolutely terrible. The amount of healing gained by stacking up healing power (stat) did little to increase the heal output (current system does a bit better than the previous but still lackluster). I do see that we (ArenaNet Devs) are buffing some areas of the game but I would like to know how ArenaNet is going to address the professions that doesn’t get a new healing specialization, such as the water elementalist or healing (meditation?) Guardian. I might as well throw in the Blood Necromancers as well and just maybe… maybe… banner warriors
2. The biggest thing that pushed zerker to be the meta and not a soft trinity was because, healing provided no experience/no karma for an event unless you dealt damage. It was a flawed designed from the start.
Is there something in the engine now that detects and allows healers to get rewards without damaging/killing a monster and contribute to the event?
Without fixing the concerns mentioned above, healing spec is something people would hope to have in a party but never want to play because the current system does not reward you for healing.
3. <insert more here> or profit
Regards,
A concerned avid GW and GW2 fan.
I would say shout warriors over banner warriors, since thats active healing not place down banner and forget kind of healer.

I guess a mix of shout/banner warrior is the way to go.
