Guild Wars 2

Hey all,

Just doing some questing on my Ranger alt and I’d like some help with traits/stats/pets.

I use Longbow / Axe+Warhorn predominantly.

What are the best traits to aim towards whilst levelling? I am really inexperienced with the Ranger. Do I just stack into the Power trait line? Or are there more useful/important things to aim for first?

Also, what pets do you find are the best for questing? I think it’s pretty obvious that I should carry at least 1 Bear for tanking? What are your opinions for my second pet? A dog? Drake? Bird? Cat?

As for stats, I was thinking Power and Toughness.

Would love to hear from you Ranger gurus.

And please, no posts about how bad and broken Ranger is and for me to roll a Rifle Warrior. If I wanted to roll a Rifle Warrior, I would have rolled one. Ranger interests me a lot more, and to be honest, after spending 300 hours on my Thief, I will appreciate a challenge.

Just for some extra information, I am not interested in a pure condition build. I have full exotic condition gear on my Thief and run a D/D DB + Caltrops build. I am looking for a change of pace, although I can see for instance that traps are heavily condition based. I would be willing to incorporate conditions into my Ranger but don’t want my entire build to be based around them.
