I know playing lb ranger and standing behind a zerg and pew pewing is ez mode but curious about the rest.

In pvp i dont struggle against much other then the DD ele, and the occasional medi gaurd. (due to the pet passive bug)

In WvW i beat pretty much most 1v1 matchups.. occasionally losing to medi gaurd again and DD ele, also with the -40% condi food.. war seems to be tough. (due to the pet passive bug as well)

All i get is QQ that im hitting only 2.. and when i offer the chance for them to bring a ranger of their own or anyone else who can play it, the usual response is “I dont play ez mode.” I don’t think winning on ranger 1v1 is that easy to do let alone solo or team roaming..

So my questions is.. any other power ranger out there that can win most of their 1v1s or is the class actually that easy to play in 1v1. When ive gone against a ranger 1v1 as a thief i had no problem beating them (minus the sic em build switch)

Several people are sore losers. You could show up naked with a 1H weapon and no off-hand and beat people and someone will still come up with an excuse why you won.

Ignore it, move on, play what you enjoy.

End of the day I love WvW Zerging as a Power Ranger, but just because it’s easy and generates a whole slew of QQ. As a class Ranger is pretty broken is most aspects and what comes natural for most other classes is a hard grind and a struggle for the ranger class – and most people who don’t play one KNOW that and that’s why they’d never use it(not because it’s EZMode as someone you just smacked would say).

In fact if someone says Ranger is EZ mode you could reply with:

‘Says the Warrior’
‘Says the Guardian’
‘Says the Engineer’
‘Says the Thief’

Respectively.

We’re pretty much lunch for anyone with a mediocre skill to their play with a Power Build and we won’t win a 1v1 unless A) They Bad or We got the jump on them. In PvP though Power Ranger is really horrible and shouldn’t be used.

I stopped caring about other peoples’ opinions after a turret engi called me bad for beating him 1v1 on thief.

I seen people suggest saying this in response:

I roll with: “i don’t take lessons from people who die to RANGERS”.

I have been rolling LB/GS for ages (before LB upgrade) and spent my first year as a bow/bow ranger simply for the challenge.

Get many /whisper after winning fights. The response they get depends on how they come off. In the event they trash talk I simply respond

“If you think it’s a fluke we can do it again”

I used to mail them salt but that just felt immature… Now I send them humiliation dye instead.

I usually just ask the person why they can’t counter me if “all I am doing is pressing 2”.

I mean if all I’m doing is pressing one button it should be pretty easy to work around that, right?

In PvP with the addition of so many obstacles to LoS behind dueling beckmes significantly harder because your are confined to a small area and they have more sustain. Still, I think ranger can win 1 v 1s even in or around the nodes unless it’s a d/d ele and shoutbow are extremely hard. That being said, is it easy? No.

When I run on my d/d ele (I’m zerk) and I see a longbow ranger, I know that its going to be a hard fight provided they’re competent. Usually I start the fight by lightning flashing towards them, popping armor of earth and using RtL to drop as much range between me and them as possible. Otherwise you’ll literally be at half health before you can even retaliate.

Celestial ele is a different story, apparently, but I don’t run one. Either way, a competent longbow ranger is very strong.

I meant cele. Any other ele should lose to a power ranger imo (unless they go tankier).
