Questions about druid in wvw
For starters – Glyph of Unity scales with power. Which means you are basically doing nothing at all with the glyph.
You’d be much better with Stability from SotP since you lack that. Also, I’d think about swapping the Glyph of Alignment for Lightning Reflexes. You are quite vulnerable to condition bombs, so you’d definitely like that retreat option that removes Immob.
Apart from that it seems fine for diving into the blobs of people. It rarely is needed, though.
Wondering myself the role of a Druid in WvW.
Solo, duo, 5/HAVOC.
Zerg.
Large scale, zerg, seems tricky but I’ve honestly not run Druid at all in WvW so no idea how the flow goes. Hoping this thread gets some movement…

Also, I was shocked when I saw that the most amazing environment for Lingering Light trait you skipped.
You should definitely give that a go. It has cooldown per target unlike the roots.
Unless you have at least 1 guardian in your party at all times, no stability = GG bro.
You should also always have GotL slotted.
The bomb in a zerg is what wins fights and 15% extra damage is nothing to scoff at. The other two simply don’t affect enough enemies to be worth it.
The extra damage also helps finish off keep lords faster which has helped a lot with the new buffed lords. The SMC lord takes forever to kill now.

These are the skills/traits I use and have seen some good success with. I’ve found that it’s better to build for maximum survivability rather than focusing on outgoing heals.
A druid will only be needed when the fight is going poorly and that is the exact time you need to be worrying about staying alive yourself and being able to shadow the commander as they get heal priority over anyone else but will also be the focus of most of the enemy damage.
Yesterday was a quite active day for t1 wvw. So, I got a chance to try out bleed/cc bomb druid in zerg fights. It was working beautifully; I could survive most fights (around 30-40 players zergs). I was front line with cmd helping him push and recover. Popping CA right after my burst to get front lines thru the bomb, celestial shadow worked well for that. All those fights I was solo ,so there wasn’t stability for me most of the time but I had lots of stun breaks, so with a party, I would say druid front line is definitely viable. Today I am gonna try out power healing build again; hopefully wvw is as active.
@Xavath Please let us know how it turns out.
I’m debating whether to gear my Druid or my Rev for WvW so I’d be interested in how Druid plays into WvW
Kittens, Kittens everywhere!
Played my power healing build today in wvw zergs. This time i went with staff/longbow. Longbow is helpful for range pressure, but i find myself pushing with cmd most of the time (its how i like to play i guess). High healing power with CA form really helps in frontline when cmd pushes.
The role ,in my opinion, for healing druid in wvw is to support cmd to push further and recover faster. I noticed when cmd could push alot further into enemy’s backline. If cmd had to recover from either a successful or fail push, CA form was already recovering the frontline from low health before cmd could even call for water, so that helped the next push started faster.
Currently , the zerg fights consist of alot of instant downs from all those revs running around with hammers, so I had to go with all defensive utilities (LR,Signet of Stone, QZ, SoTP) , so i had no glyphs , or else more CC could be put in use. But, overall, I like it. Druid can be played many ways in wvw zerg.
And here I was thinking that the Guardian’s heavy armor and primary role in WvW was to be on the front line pushing…. /boggle.
Xavath – glad you are trying stuff out like this. Will be interesting to see how mine does in WvW. Thanks for the information and feedback post play.

No problem, I am glad to share my experience. Yea, i don’t understand why only acceptable front line classes in the eyes of some cmd are GD and War and sometimes necro. I have 80 ranger , GD, Mesmer , ele and I only play wvw and living story just to keep up to date with lore. I usually run with front line and any classes can bring benefits imo.
@OP , The most important thing about making build imo is knowing the role u are building for. The role you are going for is definitely viable. It’s similar to what I am doing. But, you have to know your zerg and adjust. If you have strong front line or cmd is good at surprise attack, during the push you can do a lot of daze and immob. If not, you will be popping your CA early in most pushes and all defensive cooldowns to stay alive with cmd. Hope you have fun with this role as I am.
