The penalty for 4 seconds of haste is just too small. I mean, no healing received? There are no dedicated healers in the game and if your bursting someone, I would think getting healed is your least concern.

Compared to other classes quickness penalties (with the same cooldown and duration),
Quickening Zephyr penalty is pathetic.
Frenzy (+50% damage taken)
Haste (lose all endurance and it doesn’t regen for 4 sec)
Elixir U (pick a random quickness penalty from other prof. haste abilities, the above)

ranger damage is pathetic. That’s why penalty is so. Whe only way to use haste well – is hang more bleeds with shortbow. Just stand face to ranger and u’ll avoid it.

Ok don’t take me wrong but with so many broken traits/skills you gonna “complain” of that one skill that is working ok, but because the penalty is not the worst is OP?!
Ranger signets are the worst of all professions, and don’t make me start talking of our spirits, here you have like 8 skills that most of the ppl that play ranger don’t even want to touch.

Only the warrior frenzy penalty is penalizing. The rogue aren’t either.
But for the ranger, it’s our only way to get a burst for few sec unlike wars and thieves who have weapons skills to do it.

Nerf QZ and you will utterly destroy half the Ranger builds.

While the QZ debuff is milder than Haste/Frenzy, so is the actual buff (in practice). Whereas a Thief or Warrior will combine theirs with something like HBs or Pistol Ship for stupidly high damage, Rangers don’t have that much to combo it with. Rapid Fire is a good one in theory, but the Longbow is too weak for any serious PvP. That leaves us with the Shortbow Crossfire, which is only dangerous if you let a Ranger stand behind you the entire time.

While I do think it should be nerfed in the future (e.g. prevent healing for a some time afterwards, making you susceptible to counter-burst), Rangers need heavy buffs in other areas before we start nerfing things. Once Rangers become scary with QZ+Longbows, then we can discuss possible nerfings.

QZ is only useful in melee range (4 seconds without heals in someones face can be painful), or with a short bow (stacking bleeds primarily). It doesn’t affect my longbow in any manner I find useful, I find the buff situational at best (like if I’m chasing someone down).

I dont like QZ either. It seems a bit OP as its a very powerful range spike. As a ranger I prefer more escape / dodge skills.

With great sword, you can leap → QZ → stun → deal dmg.

wow…really…Only with QZ ranger has the same dps as other class do, dont even mention no one will touch signet spirits and pets(besides protect me) skills, and half of our trait is useless due to the related skills or targets are useless. And QZ is nowhere near to be an OP skill…

QZ is op, I have no freaking ideal why you would say that
ranger damage is really kitteny at the moment. Without QZ it’s even worse. Do not forget, our arrows can be “dodged” so ever easily.

Want to know a neat trick about rangers? Stand away from a ranger at 600+ range and quickly spasm left and right with your movement…..

Know what this does? it makes the arrow Ai try to guess where your about to run and you can end up taking 0 damage . This tactic can be used while attacking keeps and no ranger on the fricken wall can hit you with anything but AE abilities.

Psst also do this maneuver as your running away from a ranger. (90% of the arrows he fires will miss you as you run away.

This trick works with ANY ranged NPC as well like the deadshots in Arah and the snipers in CM.

Now that you know this and know that ranged rangers can have thier dmg nullified by EVERY CLASS in the game.. do you still think any ability the ranger has is OP?

nerf QZ?? i say make it last longer(one or two seconds) or shorten the recharge time(even with the -20% trait its still 48 seconds). It really isn’t all that useful, sure it adds a bit of damage, but most of the time that damage is negated… nothing like hitting QZ then being stunned, rooted or double dodge rolled.
