Raid Builds
What do you find looks bad about the builds listed on Metabattle?
For Vale Guardian the offensive healer build listed on Metabattle works very well if the group needs a large amount of healing. Personally I use a Zealot’s staff with a transference sigil for when things get out of hand. If the healing is still too low, switch out the armour for Zealot’s and use a rune which augments your healing (i.e Monk runes).
Once you’re more confident, I’d recommend switching out for a full condition set. Shortbow works wonders when running greens and you can proc quickdraw double bonfire once you return to the boss.
For Gorseval the healing requirements are lower, so I’d generally recommend just bringing the Axe/Torch condition setup. Make sure you’re in CA form when his breakbar is active or expect a few dead elementalists though!
For Sabetha I’d recommend the same condition setup. If you’re given the role of range-tank just bait out the flak shots using shortbow then head melee to drop glyphs / bonfire. You’ll have plenty of time to get in and out again before she fires the next flak shot.

For Vale Guardian – you might want Glyph of the Tides or Entangle
For Gorseval – you might want Entangle and secondary pet as Spider to root spirits
Let me explain, I was planning on creating a Druid raid build from scratch, so you guys have any ideas?
Like support with offense kinda thing, offense centered on pets, etc.
Those are already incorporated into raid builds. Why do you want to start completely from scratch?

Because.. I play builds that incorporate my playstyle into it. And I hate bandwagonning off of builds from meta battle.
PvE builds are very straight forward though. There isn’t much room for creativity because you just take a bunch of offensive support, heal people, and take either the best utility or the best damage pets. I don’t even know what else you would want to do other than use weird weapons like axe/axe or something.

I want something you know,, like Spirit support kinda thing, something kinda unique you know. haha. It’s hard to explain, I play pve With close friends so basically we can run whatever we want, We aren’t those types that are maximum efficiency elitist people either.
I’ll post an example later.
To explain it quickly –
You need Skirmishing for Spotter (Quick Draw is a cherry on the top).
And that only leaves you Nature Magic for DPS (perma mighted pet with fury and/or quickness) with roughly +7% DPS from boons. The only choice is Instinctive Reaction if you want Quickened heals if you drop below 50% HP as a safe choice.
There’s literally nothing to be creative about here. And those “metabattle” builds are technically all builds that are viable and bring results. If you want to role-play with axe/axe or Power Shortbow there’s no room for you to get creative, I’m afraid.
If you want to be useful – you’ll eventually end up building the very same build from the scratch as me, UnitedCho and some others who already provided for you to just copy+paste it.

If fun is the only thing that matters to you – then there’s literally no way for us to help you since you are the only one who knows what’s fun to you. And you never really cared about succeeding the raid.
Which means that you didn’t really have to ask because we do not know the answer. Maybe if you ask a different question – it might be easier to get a reply you search for.
Especially since Raids are the end-game content that is based on results. You won’t beat the raid with power of friendship alone.

Spirit support is fine, you can take frost and sun, even nature, and still have a totally reasonable build. The problem is the spirits put their boons on each other so it becomes insanely wasteful to take more than 2ish. E.g., frost spirit has 5 targets and 3 of them are other spirits… not good.
Taking support is “meta” though.

This goes only if there aren’t enough player targets. Spirit Auras go by boon prioritization. You > Your Party > Other players > Minions
I run Sun and Frost spirit in like every fractal run and I haven’t had a single moment where we all 5 wouldn’t have both auras.
So Spirits will leach auras only if there’s literally no one else to share with.
Oh did they finally fix that? For a while spirits had priority.

I’ll go check it tomorrow again, just to make sure.

Maybe something like this:
Perma Burn, High Might, +45% Damage Increased, Heals.

If it’s for raiding I would shy away from trying to bring a little bit of everything, let your friends handle buffs like might while you focus on spreading around the awesome ranger exclusive buffs.
- You’re focusing a lot on burning, but you’ll only have about 2 stacks of burning from the sun-spirit. At 100 condition damage that’s not going to do a great deal of damage. Why not instead focus on powering up your physical hits, since your main weapon (Sword) is a hard hitting melee weapon?
- Why take Moment of Clarity over Steady Focus? – You only have one daze skill (Lunar impact) and you’ll be using that mainly as a heal rather than a CC.
- Again if you’re raiding you might want to use different trinkets, as high toughness (~1500) will likely mean that you’ll be tanking and healing at the same time.
- Lastly I’m sure your teammates would appreciate some Spotter, it’s just too awesome of a buff to say no to.
All that said, if you’re just running open world content then anything is fine. But being prepared to justify your decisions in a raid environment will potentially save you some headaches down the line.

Makes sense, I do PvE like once every two months, ha.
Okay, give me guys an good original build then, I just despise metabattle a lot
The metabattle raid builds were thought up and used by people on these forums. You won’t find anybody telling you to not take spotter and frost/sun spirit. If you want an original build, you’ll have to be original.
Okay, give me guys an good original build then, I just despise metabattle a lot
You despise being useful ?
The thing is we only gave you like 5 different build options. Don’t ask me to create the 6th because you want to be here at the process of creation.
If you want to create a build – create one. The heart of metabattle and “meta” builds is efficiency. And I just despise dragging 9 other people down a lot when I know I can bring more. So I naturally won’t suggest any ineffective build.
If you want to have fun – bring anything if it’s fun to everybody playing with you. If you want results – don’t say you hate the build based on efficiency. Sure, builds on metabattle may be not 100% best, but let’s say 90% of it will be accurate.

your build edited. take GotT on VG for orb control instead of sun spirit, not sure if this is on metabattle or not, it’s basically how i have my ranger built atm.
edit: there’s only 1 weapon set shown because you split the torch and axe for quickdraw procs. you could use SB on swap as well, the daze could be useful for breakbars on VG an fast atk speed with sigil or water and food will fill up CAF well.
