Rampager Shortbow sPVP build
Only RNG condi clear from sigils, no stun breaks, no energy sigils. Needs to be fixed >.>
Why do you prefer shortbow? How often can you stay above 90% hp to take advantage of your WS refined toxins? It’s hard to not take ambidexterity.
Hey it’s not me who came up with the brilliant idea of putting all the condi removal on the same spot. Poison master means no condi removal that’s just how it goes.
Shortbow has highest base damage of our condi weapons, in addition to bleed and poison and 1 more evade I don’t prefer it over axe/torch for a condi build but for rampager it’s the best.
Refined toxins is mostly for the pet and pet swap as it scale with the ranger condi dmg even if the pet applies it, but with heal as one it’s not hard to over 90%. Also it helps keeping poison on your target at all times.
For more sustain I’d go with brown bear, protect me, nest, spike trap.

-very glassy- low hp, low toughness
-poor condition removal
-power does not scale particularly well with weapon choices
-condition damage will be the main source of damage but condi damage in this build is low
-not much use for crit chance with no on-crit conditions
overall yeah, looks like a great build if you wanna roleplay a rampager ranger but frankly you will be a liability to your team, if that matters.
It’s very glassy, but if you want to go for full condi burst chaining I should go entangle with spider pet, some classes will melt insta if they dont have port or stability up, you need wolf also or pink moa to cc.
And you need rune of the krait.
in a 1v1 with optimal positioning trapper ranger is really fun to play.
But you need to be carried by thief or ele or guard for movement.
I ran the build Infirit posted last night when we did a guild Dueling Tourney. It was the first time I ran it. I beat an ele, a mesmer and an engi. The taunt from the pet is HUGE, can’t stress it enough. With the movement capabilities of sword, going in and out of melee distance coupled with that taunt, worked really well.
It is really soft, but you can blow people up so fast with condis its ridiculous. Id like to try it with axe/dagger instead of the bow and change out to rune of the krait. I just didn’t know how to use the bow well enough and it felt very weak when I did use it. It didn’t put enough pressure on my targets.
When I faced our guilds medi guard, I got REKT. I don’t know how I would of beat him. I couldn’t kite him, I needed to be semi close to do dmg and he was smart enough not to chase.
He also had ways to port to me and pull me and he’s good. And you see how the build is, it’s not built for survivability.
Would you say that a medi guard is the builds counter?
