Hi!

My main is a guardian, and I have a ranger and necro as my alts (all 80). Since rampagers gear worked so well with my necro, I was thinking of running the same setup on my ranger, with a hybrid crit/cond build for PvE. Would that work, or would I just be wasting stats?

Overal Rampager is a waste of stats.

Precission should never be the main atribute. Mathematically it’s so inferior to Power that a derivate to distribute 1000 points (with basi Critical Damage) says that substracting precission, which means a very small amount of life restoring anti-crits (I know it isn’t possible in the game) to give even more points to Power, you’re getting the best damage rate even if a small percentage of your attacks (I believe it was 4% but I need to recover my research) are healing your opponent.

That’s how poor Precission is compared to Power. In adition to make it semi-decent you need to consume 2 atribute lines (one for Precision, one for Critical Damage).

Precission is only good when you already got maxed Power, to trade survivality for an extra bit of damage to get the best rates. Or if you got a huge lot of support and stuff based on critical hits (like some Guardian AH builds or probably your Necro build which I think would use most of the on-crit traits), and even then you should get ton of Power to justify the Precission investment.

Precission + Condition Damage is garbage mathematically, even if you’re using Traits and Sigils to bleed on Crit, the total damage from Direct Damage + Conditions is just too low compared with Carrion, which aditionally helps with your survivality.

I run with knight set and never looked back since.
