Ranger Danger - Zerker Montage
WoW, you actually won vs the PU condi mesmer. Nice
Very good video! Edited so well, good job mate. Nice duels too
You’re good, but your pet control isn’t. Work on that!
Am I good?… I’m good.
Yup, great video editing. LB 1 super balanced too. Not OP. Do you ever have any concerns about movement speed in WvW? Do you regret not taking SotH or Traveler runes? Just curious.
That was pretty kitten impressive, amazingly well done. I’m scared as hell to run full zerker in WvW. I run 4 Cav/2 zerker for armor and a mix if of cav/zerker/celestial trinkets and I do ok. I like being able to take a few hits from Thieves, Warriors, and Guardians but I notice my damage suffers for it. Also how do you do with no speed? That’s the one thing that’s mandatory for me in WvW solo roaming.
*edit*Oh my…..oh my…..that condi ranger at 9:00 must have destroyed his keyboard/mouse after that fight. Well played, well played!

I tried mixing some toughness into my gear along with a bit of healing power but the way things are right now I found I go down just as fast as rolling with full zerker stats. It’s kind of sad really.
Eyy folks,
Just finished uploading a little vidya that I gon did this week. Had some pretty nice scraps on the borderlands and put together a montage for my channel. Although this definitely isn’t an ideal time to be comparing classes, I’ve been aching to make some new content for a while and decided to throw something up this weekend. I’d love for you to have a look!
The build is in the description for anyone interested
Cheeeeeeeeers!
To OP: Nice montage. Intro was a bit wobbly around the first disclaimer bit but picked up and seemed smoother as you went through the salty, rude, and of course ignored part. The ignore bit made me giggle a bit because that happens to me from time to time.
Also I’d be someone that would probably message you after death but not to be rude or salty but more to comment on you being an Asura with that hat The hat with ears and your dress up ability makes you seem all cute and cuddly but next thing I’d know I have a back full of arrows! Not nice.
To others. I personally find lack of speed in WvW a death sentence. I have a full dps/zerker set and I run into things like not keeping up with fellow havoc members or resetting and escaping. I’ve tried spare weapon and sigs to grant a few minutes after flipping camps to food to boosts. In the end it seems frustrating. I typically go back to my condi/LB/axe/torch trap build that at least keeps me closer or when solo plenty of escape options.
Thanks for sharing.

His permanently damaged armor is telltale of what it’s like running full glass ranger in wvw. 2k range, gs 3 sec block, sos, hound/wolf, stealth, evades and so on, used well make a little more armor/hp trivial. In return, you actually deal dmg with longbow that will hurt even pvt.
As for speed, who cares if you get to next objective 10sec faster? If so then swap in soth and then swap it back out. Also swoop and other movement skills are no long affected by speed increase/decrease.
One thing I noticed, is that you have Sigils of Air in both slots on your LB, Major and Superior, do the CDs not interfere or is it purely between sigils of the same tier?
If that does work, I cannot believe I didn’t know it until now lol.
Reading https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/runes-sigils-and-balance-updates/ it would seem that it should not work.

I run exclusively Zerk LB ranger in WvW roaming all the time and have great success in 1 v 1. I win most duels, except Mesmers who trait for reflection AND PU at the same time, which hard-counter LB 100%, and some D/F ele that I basically can never kill them if they play right.
The key to my success is running both WS line and Nature together, that you pretty much covers you with both cleanse and anti-burst. I have no trouble handling any thieves and able to swiftly retaliate them back thanks to Nature Magic. (Otherwise you’d be killed by thief as zerk if they caught you from surprise from stealth)
I tried alot of things in WvW roaming, including the BM line and such. It ended up grabbing both WS and Nature is the best solution against most builds. Don’t be afraid to run full zerk if you grab both of these traits.
Edited note: I value mobility, so I still use GS and SotH, because in T1 there’re just too many people zerging around. Mobility is a must if you want to roam in T1 and survive. (Probably because I roam in EB the most because I got bored roaming in other maps due to lack of foes)

Wow, thank you all! I’m glad you enjoyed the video
To address a couple of points above regarding…
Movement speed: In a roaming situation it can definitely be a little rough, especially if you aren’t in combat yet and are being chased by a group (in which case I suggest you waypoint or use it as a chance to train your sneaky skills). The ranger hate is real and they will chase you to the edges of the map and back if they can. Despite that, however, you get almost permanent swiftness from your first minor trait in skirmishing while in combat, so that’s not really an issue. If you’re worried about falling behind you can just switch in SotH until you catch up like Justine said.
Double Air Sigils on LB: Yep, this does actually work! Despite the fact that major has a slightly longer ICD, it does the same damage as superior (which is more than Fire) and does not share a proc CD with its sibling. If the stars align (which they often do with such a high crit rate) you can proc both within a short time frame quite frequently. This is hell for anyone unlucky enough to be struck by you from range and can make your Barrage do significant damage to a target.
Full Zerker: Like a few people have said above, full zerker is the way to go IMO. In the current game state, you can be one shot (or close to it) by several classes regardless of whether you’re zerker or almost full PVT. Conditions are also super rude and ignore everything but vitality. I would prefer to kill someone before they kill me, using my defensive options to minimize enemy damage as I wail on them (several of the defensive abilities rangers have also have an offensive element i.e. Counter Attack). Thieves can be a problem, but if you rotate your defensive skills effectively then you should be able to kill them before you’re in a bad place.

You’re good, but your pet control isn’t
. Work on that!
Yeah a few of the fights had poor pet management, largely due to the fact that I was so focused on not dying or I spaced out and had my pet on passive without realizing and acting accordingly. I like to think those examples are an exception though, as even this video has several good uses of F2 skills. In time I’ll hopefully fix that all together. It’s actually the main thing I’m working on at the moment, now that I’m feeling pretty comfortable with the actual ranger abilities.
