Ranger & Druid Patch Notes Nov 4th 2015
That is good, 2 updates in a row without nerfs.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Nothing? Not one mention of either class, its getting just a little too much to handle at the moment. I have just carried on with my girls, and not looked at the Druid with hopes something will be viable. The smallest increases would be treated like The Arc of the Covenant, but continued silence, or worse, the dreaded ‘we are looking at it’ but no specifics or …..anything of tangable hope for us to cling to.

It is quite clear they do not have one single clue what to do with Druid (with GW not having a hard trinity and extreme clunky mechanics as bonus) and well, the previous 3 years they had no urge to do fix anything with Ranger, so I would stop hoping and do something else. Hoping for Anet to wake up and do something finally is futile. All we get is lies from Irenio that he is on the ball…
I really liked smokescale as it was. It had great burst and amazing synergy with WHaO. Sadly forum warriors got their way.
I would be a bit miffed if Druid wasn’t very effective or fun to play. But it is effective. And it is a lot of fun. Whether you’re in to it or not.
That being said I hope everyone read these patch notes thoroughly. There were some significant changes to some other classes which will alter the landscape in pvp over the coming weeks.
The most important change is the nerf to the Reaper trait Deathly Chill. Basically they nerfed the base damage, increased the scaling, but then completely got rid of the idea of doing more damage below 50% health. Over all I think this will make Reapers a bit easier to deal with as a Druid, though still probably a bit of a counter.
Berserker also received some rather significant changes, what mostly look like buffs. If they’re strong enough mechanically to keep up now, I think that’s gonna mean a bit more condi pressure we’ll have to deal with.
Of course, this is just one players predictions and we’ll only really see after a bit of play.
Edit: Well shoot, they did swap the smokescale f2 back around. Smoke Assault cooldown is now only 16 sec, and hits 5 times.

Felt like the nerf is way too hard. About 30-35% damage decrease for the pet as well as 2 Might if using WHaO. Since the pet cannot use the skill before engaged, the long distance blink is now useless.
On the other hand the Field is just a Smoke Field without any effect (unlike other pets). I at least hoped for a shorter cd.
IMO revert this change, its horrible.
Meanwhile, reaper chill was buffed…..

Oh yes the 2 seconds combat mode when you finish the skill… So annoying and also diminish the mobility of the skill.
But to have the blast i think it’s mandatory to change to combat mode. Isn’t that right?

Irenio said it was unintended and a fix was worked on, also warhorn doesn’t put you in combat.

Was it that much? In the Mists I’ve noticed it going from 4.5k on heavies to 3.5k now for a 22% decrease.

Smoke attacks Damage was not nerfed.
They reduced the strikes from 7 to 5, that is a 29% Damage Nerf, but a 50% buff to its CD, as it was Reduced to 16 seconds that is Actually a buff to its overall damage, its Just not as Bursty anymore so u cant use it to try Down someone Before they get CDs or something quickly.
So yes this has put the pet down abit more for a PvPer but i wouldnt say the nerf was as strong as 40%.
for the Overall Case.
Wtf?… Druid is perfectly Viable, its physically IN THE META, its STACKED in Tournament Teams, and Even ESL teams Consider it for Games, Just because it isnt a DPS Specc.. or Reduces the Rangers Damage output as a whole doesnt make it a BAD ELITE..
your a Fecking Healer, thats What was advertised and thats what you’ve been given, its bunkering Is Great and the Healing output is pretty kitten Great too and u can still set it up to do some decent Damage with BM. I dont understand why people are trying to argue the Druids bad…

lulwut? It went from 24s to 20s base. 4 is not 50% of 24…
It got a 29% damage nerf and only a 17% reduction on it’s cooldown.
Uggh Chill is waaaay stronger now. I almost feel like Natural Stride is mandatory now even though reapers can just keep reapplying it. Sad face.
