Ranger Dungeon Build
This is the same thing I say to every wilderness survival build:
You are trying to use the ranger in a role it is not good at. Rangers excel at offensive buffing, but are mediocre at best at protecting the party. Reflects are best handled by your party’s mesmer and guardian.
You do have the right ideas, but I just feel that this type of build is way too situational, and that the damage loss from no points in Skirmishing makes it not worth running. At least this build is better than most of the other ones that people post here.
I am currently going with this build:
I usually replace the Sword/Axe set for GS when I want to dodge properly, especially agaist some bosses!
@OP the traits from the other build posted are better
+1 for Dave Pare, although i prefer the 25pts trait in power line rather than prec line.

Lol? U should do some math. 25 skirmishing is much better for dungeons.
dunno i like the guaranteed crit with maul or with Path of Scars…dunno, guess for dungeons if you can be behind your enemy or on its side 25 skirmishing is better(CoF p1 last boss for example) but i find it situational…also i use valkyrie gear so i dont mind an extra crit
As for me I wanted to bring for new players an idea that rangers can bring to the party great buffs other classes can’t do, like permanent fury (20% crit chance + 7% from spotter), and frost spirit (10% total team dmg). Ranger is very flexible class so you can switch weapons as you like for different situations. I agree that build I showed is very situational as TurtleDragon said (but you can’t show all what build can do). For example you can switch Two-handed training in nature magic to Spirits unbound to provide buffs in some moving bosses. You can switch 20 points fron WS to skirmishing and so on.

I switch skirmishing II for IV if the party is caping bleeds (it’s possible to use main hand axe and switch it to IX or if using longbow X)and Frost Spirit for Signet of Stone or Renewal if the encounter has too many unavoidable ground target aoes.
If there’s another ranger with frost/spotter’s, you can use a max dmg build with the same trait setup:

In 1st build you showed in nature magic you should take vigorous spitits, because 35% isn’t serious.
I virtually always run with a GS and Sword/Axe in dungeons, its the best dmg for sure. I have a little sweet spot for two handed training so I use this build.
