Ranger Dungeon Build/help
Well… you can go
a) condition build (need new gear tho) which if fun because you have to press a lot of buttons and swap weapons often + pet management. But you have to be the only one with condi build in your group (shared bleed cap + shared poisons QQ).
b) beastmaster bunker build and do laughable damage BUT never ever EVER die unless you go afk or alt+tab (even in yellow zerk gear).
c) all range build and do “ok” damage BUT everyone with range weapon will outdamage you anyway (even GS warriors with 0 rifle/bow traits will do better at range if they swap to rifle/bow).
I would say hybrid between A and B because it is fun to press all them buttons all the time and rarely die. Your damage tho will be still inferior to anyone else who is not afk or terribad at game.
There are tons of builds of all 3 types for rangers with minor differences between them. I suggest you use youtube and filter the most recent ones since they offer not only trait examples but also gear advices and tips how to use their build more or less properly.
PS: oh and I almost forgot one final build
d) Spirit support build. Go this and you will be kicked from every half decent group superfast.

You have one of the highest DPS builds there assuming your cat stays up. I might suggest 30 in MM for signet of the beastmaster along with signet of stone. Plus, swap to a drake. Drakes have blast finish, hit hard for their toughness, and will give your cat the rest it needs. Another good choice is red moa for the lpng duration fury. I’m often the only one granting fury. Finally, clerics gear with healing power runes (zerk trinkets) is good for a bit more of a healing role. I tend to run that gear if there’s more zerk players in the group than I’m comfortable with.
Don’t get me wrong, 5 zerk is doable and probably optimal but few—if any—PUGs will be able to pull that off without getting frustrated. I PUG a ton of dungeons. I’ve never been kicked for using spirits either; to prove their efficacy I will post a video showing me using spirits in a group in various dungeons, including Arah. I already have clips of Arah, Molten Facility, and I think something else.
I have a question…
My pet dies a lot in AC, mainly at the bosses. I’m working on learning exactly when to call my pets back before they get hit, but still, it’s annoying and that won’t fix everything. I’m only level 37 with 10 points in BM, and I also have Signet of the Wild. I use my wolf and my devourer for dungeons most of the time. My question is, will the next 20 points in BM make a difference in the low level dungeons, or will it scale badly?

I might suggest 30 in MM for signet of the beastmaster along with signet of stone. Plus, swap to a drake.

I do swap to the Moa / Stalker on fights where I know I cannot keep my pet up at all.
I feel like this is a waste of my potential, since they do the same with 0 or 30 BM

Clerics for dungeons? I thought that was iffy for rangers due to only being good for our water combo :c

I personally have no issues with Spirits, I just find I cant use them right and no room in my utilities for them.
I use SoH for Pet speed because pet DPS fails on moving targets if they have no move speed bonus and I don’t use a longbow currently
Lightning reflexes to keep myself alive on some bosses (probably my least used utility)
and SotW for some regen, mainly for the active on my jaguar paired with its stealth and Rampage as One
I could swap Lightning for Stone I guess.

Yeah I use clerics in arah when I pug and turn into a rezzing machine on lupicus. Who said it was only good in water? Hogwash, I tell you! Magi trinkets are decent for a pure support role but normall I will use zerk trinkets.

It makes a hell of a difference. Stick with it because as you say, you’re still learning, but also because of the 15 point minor trait (faster swaps) makes a huge difference. More importantly, the Grandmaster beastmaster trait Natural Healing. Coupled with a signet of wild your pets can take eyewatering amounts of damage.
