Ranger Greatsword 4 ability
My peeve with 4 is when you acivate is when you are getting focused down, then your pet pulls agro. You are left there holding up your sword blocking nothing. Soon as it goes on CD, the aggro is back on you.

Just press 4 again to at least get some dmg on your target, and a cripple. The skill is there to be adaptable. I sometimes use it to pull mobs when my leap skill is on CD.
Why make it an immobile block though?
It’s meant to be used as a response to an attack. Use it in the middle of an opponent’s attack animation so they cant just switch targets. The ranged cripple is there to give the ability versatility if no one is attacking you and to give you something to do if you do screw it up.
What you described is what the ability does, what I want to know is why we are made immobile for the duration of the block. Being immobile allows an opponent to move away from you gaining crucial distance that can change fights.

Huh…you know, I never thought of that. Why is our block an immobile one? Other classes have this similar mechanic (Block, do something else if not block happens) and they can move while blocking.
It never really occurred to me that we have to be rooted when doing this…that should definitely change.

Nah other classes have a skill like that: an immobile block that does some other effect if you cancel it early. Just rolled guardian and they have one.
If you find nobody is attacking your block, simply throw it, don’t just stand there. One thing I recommend is rotating sideways to your pet or other players, so that it is always obvious to you which way the mob is turning and who it intends on attacking.
Also, has anybody considered disabling auto-attack on 2handers? Considering the third attack is a dodge, one could theoretically dodge every attack against one mob by timing your third swing perfectly.

Protector’s Strike (Mace 3 for Guardians) hasn’t been immobile since beta, I believe. You can most definitely move while blocking. Just logged in on my Guardian alt to confirm it.
