Guild Wars 2

Since the greatsword got another buff, I’ve been fiddling with it. It’s nice, but I haven’t been able to settle on a skin. Being sylvari, warden or verdant are the obvious choices, but I don’t particularly like the look of verdant weapons in general, and the warden greatsword looks too fragile given the way rangers use their greatswords.

I feel like an appropriate choice would be a heavier looking greatsword with a thicker blade. But it’s difficult to choose one that I’m happy with. I just transmuted my molten greatsword (lol) with a krytan skin, and it’s not bad. I still feel like I could do better though.

So what greatsword skins do you like?

I’m a Human ranger and I’m so happy about the greatsword from Ascalonian Catacombs, but I was thinking of gettin Super greatsword skin, but then again… I’m almost done with sunrise, so why bother to get Super Greatsword skin xD

dhuumseal looks amazing on asura, or maybe gs fom CM

There’s a heart karma vendor in either wayfarer foothill or snowden drifts that gives you a jotun greatsword, which is what my ranger is currently rocking. If your looking for a nature looking weapon, tribal greatsword would fit that bill.

Priory Greatsword – It’s what I’m getting for my midget

I use the Godskull greatsword, it’s rather close to the iconic monster hunter greatsword Agito.

Great for taking down big beasts.

I love the ebonblade, simple model but good looking and it looks sharp

I like the whisperer GS. Its all crooked ‘n wicked ’n stuff and reminds me how awesome it is that I’m a ranger using this nasty great sword and womping on all these knight like classes who also use GS.

+1 for Ebonblade. It is nice and refined. Nothing too FF omfg massive weapon on a small toon look. Great on a female human Ranger.

I use Ebon blade GS & Wolfborn LB….looks great on my ranger. All of the Ebon weapon styles seem very humble…maybe that’s why I like them and also use them on my warrior.

I used to use Zweihander and Norn greatsword, they’re great if you want to go for the natural look. Modniir and Ogre for the more barbaric approach.

I use the Mystic Claymore (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Mystic_Claymore.jpg) since I really don’t like huge cross-hilts on my 2handers.

Personally I think of my gs ranger as an assassin, so I like skins with more realistic blades (smaller and narrow) I use the skybringer, tribal, kymswarden, t3 sylvari, and basic (white) skin. I actually really like the basic skin because no one else uses it, and it looks very fitting on my ranger. It’s like a precise needle.

That’s a cool look, White!

Personally though, I’d suggest the Norn GS primarily because Rangers use GS like a big shield and that thing looks and feels Ranger-y and like a Shield. Not flashy, just functional and looks pretty cool with the big bear maul…also, it’s big enough to be a plane wing so that justifies Swoop.

Volcanus is currently the best looking GS skin in the game (better than the legendary skins I think).

I’m currently using the Super Greatsword but my mainstay GS skin is the Kymswarden.

Khrysaor, the Golden Sword is my favorite greatsword skin. But Kymswarden and Skybringer also look really good.

Wow I didn’t even know that Jotun greatsword existed! I think it’s model is on par with something that you would normally have to craft in the mystic forge. I grabbed one last night for my norn ranger and it looks phenomenal (transmuted over my mystic claymore)!

Sorry but that thing just looks cartoonish like something a little kid would think was cool and the buzz sound is downright annoying after 5 minutes of use (you can hear that thing above the zerg sound of 50+ people). Definitely disagree.

I like my weapons to be a little more nature/survival themed rather than forged or mystical particle effects.

I’m very fond of my Zweihander, the Wolfborn skin looks similar too. Coincidentally, they both seem to be what you’re after.

The krytan greatsword is actually one of my favorite greatsword skins, but I felt like the warden greatsword was a better fit after all. So I wound up getting it anyway.
