Ranger Help/Advice Needed
To be honest, I have found crafting to be a gold sink mostly, so I skip it and just sell the mats I find.
But for xp? I am trying to get 80 as fast as possible
Tortin
Dungeons. You get about 2/3rds a level a run, and some cash to boot.
Don’t worry about your gear. I still had a piece of level 14 gear when i was 40+. You just have probably leveled up in lower level zones (been downgraded in most cases), so you haven’t gotten gear proper to your level.
How ever there are easy fixes.
Just go and level for a while in your level zone. Items drop pretty fast in this game.
Also you can always run dungeons, easy loot.
Pve solo content is not that hard in this game. Specially as ranger you should not have a hard time with low level gear in higher level zones.
To level up quickly, find yourself a group of people or join already active group and do meta even chains in some zones. You finish events very fast with a group but you still get a lot of xp. Levels will come in no time.
And yes. Crafting in this game is kind a…more about fun than actually about upgrading your gear while leveling.
You can spend your karma, its easy to farm anyways. Although you might want to save some for couple of pieces of gear at level 80 (as like i said, you really don’t need good gear leveling up). At the same time most of karma gear you can easily replace with dungeon gear.
Just enjoy the game and don’t worry about crafting/karma :>.

I levelled my ranger fairly effortlessly by doing mostly heart quests. Now you’ll come to a point where you reach heart quests that are a little higher than your current level – at this point I usually use an asura waypoint (from Lion’s Arch) and warp to the equivalent-level area of another race and do those heart quests there (in my case I rotated between the human and norn areas). If you’re unsure of where to go, take a look at the maps and they are usually labelled with the appropriate level (the wiki helps too: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page).
In regards to finding new gear, when you complete the heart quests, talk to the quest giver with the heart symbol – most of the time they offer a piece of armour for that particular level for karma. (I wish I had knew about this earlier myself!)
When I found myself not ready to go to the next zone…getting squished…I would go to another equal level zone to the one I just finished. Always did the trick. And dont be afraid to run away if you are losing a fight.
