What’s best for ranger; longbow or shortbow?

Longbow is the best for PvP and shortbow is the best for PvE in my opinion, am I right?

I honestly think that shortbow is way more funnier to play in PvE, also in the “world” – like no instances/distances. While longbow is more boring cause I’m like only using one combo:

1) Hunter’s Short (-10 Vulnerability)
2) Point Black Shot (Push back)
3) Rapid Fire (Fire multiple arrows)
4) Barrage (Barrage the target area with a hail of arrows that cripple)

Do you guys agree?

You can forgot shortbow, its combination with quickness is bugged since the 07/10 “glitch fix” patch.

The best ranger weapon for PvE is axe/torch: the amount of aoe you put out drops most groups of mobs in under 15s.

Personally, I like the Longbow over the Shortbow (this was true even before the patch). My ranger has been using the Longbow for 60+ levels.

I swap between the Longbow and the Longsword/Horn combination when I need to close the gap and get into melee.

I still use shortbow.
I still dominate people.

I still like the shortbow for kiting and my axe/warhorn is astonishing! When you swap to axe warhorn and use the buff skill in combo with quickness- its unbelievable the speed and the damage as well- and the flock of birds- its sweet dps heaven!
The warhorn buff on everyone around you is sweet as well – even buffs npc’s which is a huge help when you doing an event with npc;’s solo!
