Ranger PVE and leveling (Progress Guide)
As an added note and bump: Trying to keep me and my pet balanced so my neither of us is out damaging the other. Its tough to do but it keeps me and my pet alive this way without sacrificing dps. I feel it’s a great balance and I can’t wait to see how it fairs in pvp.
You would want to get more power than precision later on in the game though.
@snowybell if you could please elaborate as to why power would take precedence over precision later on in the game that would be greatly appreciated. Blatantly saying do this later doesn’t tell me why I something may be important.

tip: in lvl 80, with 30/30 marks/skirm and 0 Beats. Your Feline WILL outmatch you NO MATTER what u do. Cond, Dmg, Crit, doesnt matter. In terms of DMG Feline 80 pets are the real deal.

100% correct.
For real DMG over REAL TIME (not only burst, but over time).
2 options:
Berserker Shortbow build 30/30 marks/skirm
Berserker Shortbow build 30/30 skirm/tough
This in terms of DMG.
And NO, the 2 skill Longbow seems GOOD but the overall of the weapon speed cant keep up with Shortbow.

The reason you want to max power over precision is the fact that power scales faster. You need ~900 power added to double your damage. Assuming ~200% critical damage, you need ~2000 precision added to double your damage (more or less depending on how high your crit damage is). Both power and precision stack additively with themselves, but of course stack multiplicatively with each other. So ideally you’ll want somewhere around 2:1 power to precision ratio.
This is just a general rule, and various traits and effects will obviously change things up. E.g., on crit procs mean you want more precision. Increase crit chance traits mean you want more power.
Good to know, i’ll slowly start increasing my power from here on out and not the changes I see.
