so i’ve had an asura druid since i first started playing 3 years ago and i’ve never found a great med armor skin that fit both the flavor of ranger/druid and asura. the best i’ve found so far is asura t3 and it doesnt really fit the nature theme at all. so what race is everyone playing and what armor/skins do you use? I’m thinking of making a new ranger now, maybe a norm female?

Norn/human/sylvari all got options that we think of as being rangery because well…. they are humanoid.

sylvari med cultural is pretty nice, any of the others have skins that aren’t the usual trenchcoats?

The carapace stuff looks good on humanoid rangers IMO. I’ve never tried to go for the stereotypical “nature” theme since I think of her as a “scout soldier” type. This is her PvP/WvW look, and her PvE look is the regular ascended skin, which makes her look like a legionnaire.

I’m sure both are not looks many like, but it’s hard to go wrong with human armor since anet seems to design everything as human first.

Edit: Also Krytan and Viper gemstore stuff is not trenchcoat.

Since you don’t have armor options besides the Druid shoulders, just get the Nature’s Oath outfit, tbh.

Sylvari Ranger

Nature Race for Nature Class

Especially with Druid now

to me the ideal Ranger Races are:
Sylvari for the Nature Theme
Norn for the mountain man touch + Raven spirit with Nevermore with pet raven
Human for nostalgia from GW1

Asura and Charr seem too techy to be rangers imo

The new Nature’s Oath outfit it verry druid if you ask me, tested it on an asura and it looks nice, I would probably use that if I had asura ranger.

And what skins I use… I really like the Leather coat skin, looks great on my norn ranger. It is nothing fancy, pretty down to earth look. Dunno what went wrong with the screenshots tho… bit weird edges.

And norn female is the only proper druid because the ascended druid staff is called Yggdrasil. Norn because norns take care of the Yggdrasil in norse mythology and female because there is no such thing as a male norn.
