Ranger Solo PVE Build Help
Here’s my build (mostly): Build
It’s only slightly different to what you already have.
I run through Frostgorge with it with very little difficulty (you, of course, need to try to avoid too much agro).
I have a Cave Spider and a Snow Owl for my pets, using the chill from the snow owl and the snare of the spider to keep enemies away from me (and them) as best as I can.
I currently have two sets of armour, one is a MF set with Power and Precision, that I use for soloing. The other is HotW set with Vitality, Precision and Healing power for when I’m doing dungeons (I don’t have my accessories yet, so I mostly use the mf set that I made).
I’m extremely squishy, so I try to avoid getting too much agro. But, I can usually kill a melee enemy before it gets to me, or shortly after with the snares I have on-hand. Also, utilizing the 3-skill on the shortbow for an extra dodge when needed is super helpful. I also swap my pets like it’s my job, to keep Quickening Zephyr up as much as possible (except when I need to heal, of course).
However, there are a couple places that I tend to avoid, the dredge caves in the SW corner of Frostgorge, and the trolls just south of where the claw spawns (Unless there are other people farming here as well). It’s just too difficult to keep the agro down to a manageable level there. The rest of the map is a cake-walk, though.
That all being said, I use frostgorge to do my dailies, and have for over a month. So I’m extremely familiar with the enemies there and how to deal with them. When I was mapping, I remember having troubles with this build as well.

For solo, I would probably recommend a trap build. This gives you a ranged snare for kiting and will deal damage with fast acting conditions (bleeding/burning) for when you are killing low health mobs.

If you plan on doing event farming where you need to make sure you tag mobs quickly before they die (such as in Orr), drop 10 points from WS and NM to invest into Marks so you can get Piercing Arrows. Piercing normally doesn’t really shine in solo play, but it along with traps will give you all the tools to need to tag every mob in your general area before they die.
One thing to note is that I made this build with Centaur runes since this gives 100% swiftness (optimal for solo travelling), but if you want to avoid this and still want more mobility, you could always drop the traps and pick up Sig of the Wild (getting buffed to 25% run speed) and Muddy Terrain.
