I got bored:

Sylvari: Grasping vines, entangle, runes of the grove. AKA the super troll.

Human: Signet of Renewal, Empathic Bond, Healing Spring, Prayer to Kormir, runes of Lyssa. AKA the anti condi.

Asura: zerker, LB/GS, boar/wolf, technobabble. AKA the stunlock (I would kill to have technobabble on my ranger to try this!).

Charr: tanky, LR, runes of the adventure, energy sigils, hidden pistol. AKA perma evade (s/d s/d if you want to live up to the name).

Norn (I do this): zerker -> signet buffs -> snow leopard -> 14k crits from invis at 4500 range that is a kd. AKA the one shot.

I have no idea where that 14k came from.

Fall damage, I suppose.

Looking back I regret not having a Norn Ranger, but a Sylvari instead. The Snow Leopard Form is useful for getting away, if anything. I have not once used a Sylvari racial skill after reaching lv.80 as I found them all inferior to the Ranger’s utility skills. And that makes me a sad panda, because most of those skills are pretty bad as it is.

The Charrzooka with condi build is quite good actially, nice aoe burn. Its a bit gimmicky though. Some say that the Charr barrage elite is good with a power build, but I find that it hits a bit random. It also has a painfully short range.

I sometimes use Prayer to Lyssa with fortifying bond. It’s on a short CD and can proc retal.

Trust me, technobabble is good, But you don’t want Zerker gear, cause you die really fast, and its generally SB/GS for the stun chain

I actually found Clerics armor to be the best set, as you’re kind of a mini bunker.

This is my last TB video, I was going to work on another, but I just don’t feel like soloing much anymore.

Grasping Vines used to be the best racial in my book and one of the reasons I picked Sylvari eventhough it was already nerfed by then. It used to be:
1200 range
ground targetted
Area of effect (same size as barrage, but barrage was a smaller area back then)

It was basically our elite skill, but ground-targetted like Barrage. It was great in combination with barrage. It was probably better than our elite skill.

Then ANet came along with their soft nerf glove (o wait they don’t have that) and changed it to:
single targetted
900 range
still goes on cooldown even if the target is out of range

Which basically made it never used again. If only ANet learned to change things slowly and not do several changes at once to nerf something completely into the ground, then it might still have been good.

That said, I’ve kept the idea of Racial + elite + runes of the grove into the back of my mind, but I haven’t tried it. So it might still be good for that.

I know zerker is tough to survive with but in terms of 1 v 1 if I had technobabble I think it would be very strong in my hands.

My old TB1 video was with berserker gear, the second video was a combination of PVT/Knights gear

It could work with all the updates now, just to pop someone in the face wtih Maul
