I got an Angchu weapon chest in a WvW rank up, which allows me to select one weapon with Ascended Cavalier Stats. What builds out there can use cavalier weapons for the ranger?

Well … in a zerker build, cavalier would switch a bit of precision for more toughness for survivability.
In a cleric build it can also help a bit, but the crit damage would be kinda wasted.
To be sincere, I would give it to some other class, if you have any. I have some cavalier trinkets in my warrior. Elementarist can also have use since some traits/skills offer guaranteed crit even w/o precision so the extra toughness would be interesting.

My current MoC build is all Knights/Cavalier and Assassin…it works very nicely with Power/Bunker builds for the extra toughness.

if it where me that got that chest, i would get a Cavalier great sword. can’t go wrong

I’m with Eggyokeo as well. I think greatsword would be the best option since most people use it as a utility weapon as opposed to a real offensive weapon.

The problem with Cavalier is power is in the second slot imo. If a little less power isn’t a big deal for you, then any power based weapon would be fine as well.

Rangers have pretty good access to fury, so I imagine most power builds can get away with less prec and still maintain a decent crit chance if they want to. I can highly recommend getting 15 points into Skirmishing for fury on swap. I get it as part of playing a trap build and that trait alone give you a huge amount of fury just on its own.
