Ranger condition removal
I don’t normally see conditions to be that big of a problem in the first place, but we do have a number of options:
- Healing Spring (skill)
- Empathic Bond (trait)
- Evasive Purity (trait, removes blind, poison AND chill I think it was, someone on here tested this a while back)
- Signet of Renewal (skill)
- Bear pet can remove conditions with its F2
So we do have a decent amount of condition removal abilities, they just work different to what you might be used to.
As an aside:
I know a lot of Rangers complain about Immobilization and our lack of options to remove it. Remember that any of the aforementioned Condition Removal options can remove Immobilize (other than Evasive Purity).
My biggest complaint is with the weakness of Signet of Renewal and bears being underwhelming in PvP situations, which leads to us having a heavy reliability on Healing Spring for condition removal.

Remember with runes and food you can shorten condition duration on you as well, conditions just drop off you.

Empathic bond removes every condition every ten seconds. Signet of renewal removes every condition and is also a stun break (if you’re pet is alive and in range). What more do you need?
Am I good?… I’m good.

One that doesn’t screw over my pet completely?
I did not notice the condition removal on dodge before, thank you for pointing that out. Also, the active skill for the bear just shot it up in my book. I’ll have to try using it more often.

Swap Pets..
Its rare for your pet to actually die from the conditions it eats off of you.

Yeah I’m not saying it’s not happened but I think it’s pretty rare that my pets died from the conditions, it ever.
Also, I think emphatic bond was tested and it doesn’t pass them on to your pet, it just says that they do, I never tested it myself though.

Yea know..I’ve not actually seen if it has done that before..I think it does.. but I honestly never paid attention.
But you could be right.. maybe the pet just eats the conditions completely and that’s why its not a problem

Now you done it someone is going to read that and it will become yet another lackluster trait for ranger.

Ha well it’s been mentioned a lot, it’s the only reason I knew it myself as I just assumed it worked as read. I do know the pet still needs to be near you, as with the signet. If the pet is out of range you’re stuck with the conditions.
First off, I should mention that I main a necromancer, so I’ve been rather spoiled in the condition control department.
Even so, it seems like Rangers just lack decent removal options. Skill wise, there is Healing Spring (which is amazing in an of itself) and the signet. The problem is that these remove conditions too slowly for my taste. I could activate the signet to remove all of mine, but that screws over my pet.
Can anyone give me tips to deal with conditions? I really feel like I’m missing something.
Alright, I’ll open my codex for you guys who are struggling with removal.
My latest favorite:
***Turn disables into stability for your pet with this combination:
Shared Anguish + Stability Training + Porcine, ursine, or armorfish pet
For example, you could run pig with this combination, plus, it gives even more removal with the healing seed pod environmental drop.
Don’t like that?
Run Empathic bond for cleansing every 10s
Healing spring for condition removal
Run lightning reflexes or signet of renewal for stun breaks; plus SOR gives removal passively.
If you don’t like that, then run sigil of generosity or sigil of purity, if you don’t like that then run Rune of soldier for condition removal on shout
If you don’t like that run brown bear with condition removal roar

this is a very comprehensive list and seems to suggest rangers have a lot of options for condition removal.
However, i can see where the author’s coming from. As far as i’m concerned the only viable ones are
signet of renewal
healing spring
empathetic bond
- the others rely on chance and/or only remove 1 condition, which is usually pretty useless if you ask me. perhaps all the single removal options could be combined but that’s a big commitment.
- empathetic bond itself simply isn’t an option if your build doesn’t trait that far into the wilderness survival line. Having to put 30 points into any line in order to survive X type of enemy shouldn’t be a thing…
Personally i usually run healing spring and signet of renewal, and i can still get conditioned to death occasionally.
one piece of advice i’d give to the author is that the healing spring removes conditions in ticks, so rolling through it now and again (if you time it it works best) or staying in it will mean you’llregularly cure conditions for the 10 seconds that it’s up. Then you just have to survive the remaining 20 seconds of cooldown – i suggest not popping signet of renwal unless you would otherwise die… sometimes a tough call of course.
Also smart enemies will wait until healing spring runs out before dumping all their major condition dmg on you.
