Ranger - dungeon support build
Tanky pets are difficult/impossible because they can still get 1 shotted by bosses. And spirit build would be good IF there wasn’t a 5 player limit to the proc. which to my knowledge is still there.
I just keep my WvW 0/0/30/10/30 build when I go into dungeons tho. Switch troll for healing spring and put a fire trap in there for combo fields. I dunno, I usually run dungeons on my ele nowadays, they have great support abilities.
Kal Snow – Norn Guardian
I personally don’t have a specific dungeon set, since I spend most of my time in WvW. But I make some changes to be a little more supportive.
Healing Spring instead of Heal as One or Troll Unguent.
Saving Quickening Zephyr for insta rezzing downed mates (same with quickness from swaping pets).
Carrying a warhorn for the buffs, and switching longbow for greatsword (keeping the LB for tough bosses)
Entangle instead of Rampage as One, not great, but it can make some situations a lot easier.
Pets that grants buffs, like red moa and fern hund, maybe jungle stalker, but he’s too squishy IMO.
I don’t know about spirits, to be honest, I’ve never given them a try because I’ve heard too many times they are “not reliable/broken”, and I really wouldn’t like having to change my traits everytime I wanna do a run.
And some people like Search and Rescue, but I prefer rezzing myself.
Hope it’s helpfull, and I would like to hear more about dungeon supportive builds too!

Traps, healing spring, horn offhand. Don’t bother with getting your pet to tank, it can’t take more than a few seconds of pressure no matter how good its stats – I’d go with a devourer and spider and keep F3 handy.
I’ve been doing dungeons for a bit, mostly AC, and the role I’ve been running is mostly combat medic and field generator.
Pet Swap Quickness is great for ressing, we have the best water field in game, and easy access to Ice, Fire, and Poison fields. Just make sure your teammates have blast/leap finishers to take advantage of them.
I run with some tanky pets,
Though I guess I sort of consider it more of a tank/beastmaster/control build than a support build. A good number of your defensive traits and utility selections tend to affect both you and the pet at the same time and you need to go pretty far to start seeing some return, so it’s hard to get a tanky pet and not a tanky you.
Not that there aren’t alot of support-ish kind of things a control/tanky spec can do. Such as casually sauntering into a hellstorm and plucking some poor glass cannon sucker off the floor, and generally keeping some nasty gnashing it’s teeth at your mobile meatshield instead of some ally’s tender flesh while the group is otherwise engaged. I guess you’ll have to determine for yourself whether or not that satisfies your supporty itch compared to more overtly priestly things like healing and buffs.
I generally use; Troll Unguent, Signet of the Wild, Signet of Stone, Signet Mastery and go 30 deep into Beastmastery for Natural Healing. Companion’s Defense, Fortifying Bond, Bark Skin, and Master’s Bond are all other things to play with. You’ll need about 600-700 Healing Power before the abysmal healing coefficient on Signet of the Wild +the static Natural Healing starts to help counteract the white damage of an explorable dungeon mob to the point a Bear can survive until your heal is ready again. Even then you’ll still need to use ‘Return’ to get them out of AOEs/one-hit KOs and use Signet of Stone as your ’Oh, Shi-" button. More Healing meaning more room for error.
It,ah, can get kind of tricky sometimes trying to split your attention between whatever you’re doing and keeping an eye on the pet. But, you should be able to comfortably get your pet to distract those single nasty trash mobs (Scavengers, Golems, Snipers, etc), at least for as long as it takes your party and you to work through other higher priority targets to get to them. You should be able to keep your pet alive and tanking sporadically against most minibosses, though this sometimes becomes impossible for fight-design reasons (Lupicus, Melrona, etc). The real problem area is final bosses, and while there’s a few solid fights where you can manage adds (The Hunter, Destroyer of Worlds, Frost, etc), there’s also some where your pet will be a useless lump limping beside you no matter what you do (Baelfire, etc)

I have gathered around 9 gold, and a few AC / CoF badges. I have not yet bougth any lv 80 gear, it is only yesterday that I hit lv 80.
Another question for you guys / girls: Would it be possible to have a build / gear setup that works by combining Patk and Cond dmg? As in: open with LB, then flank enemy and switch to SB; If I`d have decent Patk and Matk, then SB should do ok. Also ~30% crit would be decent?
Anything good in the things above?
