Is it true that rangers gear only gives half the benefits it does other classes because of our pet? If that is true. Wouldn’t a new line of gear. “Ascended” hurt us even worse? Just curious i’ve seen this mentioned alot in the ranger forums and would like it confirmed one way or the other.

It doesn’t give half benefit to rangers PER SE. We still are getting the same stat buffs, however, are ability to utilize them, skill coefficients, are lower because ANet decided to design ranger around 100% pet uptime. However, this only really affects CND and Power. Precision, Toughness, Vitality and Healing Power should be fully utilized by Rangers.

The other issue is that having ascended gear does nothing for our pets damage. So we lose out on damage in that regard as well.
