Ranger gearing. Need some pointers
after 200 views nobody know how conditions stack and what would be better for the pve?
One thing i did notice in my test yesterday is even with the trade from condition to power, my damage is kinda the same or better
Back when i did the test with rampager with both a green toch and a green sword on a lvl 80 mob without my pet and with the -20% recharge on off end, it was around 16 seconds.
Today with Knight gear, same spec except an exotic sword but still a green torch, i was getting 14 seconds.
So i say these 2 seconds less are probably because of the sword. I would have tought that dropping that much condition damage to get power instead would have killed my torch but i seem to do as well with it as before.
Greatsword with trait = 23 sec
Sword and axe = 20 sec
Sword and dagger = 21 sec
Shortbow = 24 sec
Axe and torch = 18 sec
Not very experienced with PvE but since noone else is replying…
My experience is that trying to mix physical damage and condition damage into one build tends to end with having a very average build. Its usually more effective to go heavily into one or the other. Either can work, although high defence builds such as your tend to lend themselves better to condition damage rather than physical damage (generally).
As for condition damage, look here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Condition_damage
The table will show you how condition damage effects the damge output of your conditions.

Power+crit specs are better in groups for the reasons you mentioned bleeds cap at 25 stacks and most others only stack in duration basically a group of 5 condition specced people do the same condition damage as 2 condition specced people.
For the bleeds each stack runs on it’s own timer and does it’s own damage according to current condition damage stat, the duration is according to the skill used and can be modified by increased condition duration from traits, runes or sigils.
No conditions can crit.
