Always wondered why rangers are the only class without a unique starter item?

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

Rangers get pets. You choose a starter pet instead of a starter item.

Honestly, the lack of a unique starter item never bothered me. Some of the items aren’t even unique. Like the engineer’s monocle or the thief’s hood.

Those armadillos would be a lot cooler if they looked more like real armadillos. mmm armadillos
