Some people are just better than most at figuring out a build and taking it to the limit, and I am sure there are a few out there who have taken the Ranger to another level in PvP.

I know many here would be grateful to learn from you, if you want to help out new Rangers, now that the class is being brought up to par in the last and the next update.

I have found that the black leopard and the wolf make a great pair of pets for a fast-damage build and approach. And that I need to switch them enough to not miss opportunity.

Anyone else have anything that works, to share?

rerolling to something that actually makes a difference

when Rooted and setup for the slaughter (warrior’s root + quickened Aimed Shot, or any root + high damage ability) use the shortbow Quick Shot to provide yourself with a Evade ;P

It depends on what you want to do with your ranger. In W3 you can solo roam killing random people or zerg and AoE, you won’t have a build that works well at doing both.

Same goes for sPvP, if you want to join random pug games you will want to use a different build than if you play tPvP.

Raven/Bird for damage that makes people crap there pants and run (its funny)…You do trade for pet survivability tho for such offence.

BTW, You can always tell whos been hit by a Bird or not in the past, either way its a laugh.

WvWvW thoughts:

I agree in that our rolls can be situational and different skill sets are best for these rolls. I prefer the being alive mode of play as a dead player does zero damage. Therefore I spec’d for high survivability to the detriment of damage. I use a Bear in at least one slot for the high HP and with it I use the signet that has the Bear take all the damage for 6 seconds or 10, I forget. This is great for being up on walls or when jumped by a thief, pop it and you take no damage, or no burst.

As some thief fights end up lasting a long time, because of this build, help can sometimes show up. Also, with it, staying alive up on walls so that you can AoE or long range snipe while sitting in a pool of AoE is very nice as well.

I run a reasonbly heavy crit/condition build in W3. Not full glass but just enough of everything to survive and be able to kill.

I’ll generally win 1v1’s but give up on uber defensive Guardians, pew-pew-stealth-regen-pew-pew-stealth-regen pew-pew thieves. Mesmers I almost always kite if I’m honest. Bogey opponent…

I run with Healing Spring, QZ, LR, SoH and Entangle or RaO.
6x Superior Undead runes, all armour is full power/precision/crit exotics (transmuted skins to my liking). Accessories are mixture or power/precision/crit and vit/cond/healing. 3/2 split.

Pets are Hyena (dual knockdown after elite active) and Jungle Spider for x2 immobilise.

Over 4,200 kills in W3 with it so far and tbh I’ve not been playing W3 that long.
