Guild Wars 2

Hey everyone. I got guild wars about 3 weeks ago and I always loved rangers so I decided that would be my profession. It was fine until level 30, but then i realized that my ranger is seriously lacking. I like using bows or a sword/warhorn but i still feel like i get destroyed too often. Does anyone have any skills, weapons, or armors that would make my ranger more deadly? I realize that some things may not really help until I get to level 80 but all tips would help. Thanks

ranger was my first cha and honestly i didn’t have any issues with using a long bow and through about ten levels an axe/torch so not sure why your having problems. are you keeping your weapons as current as you can and using green ones at that level?

i did buy gems so i did have gold or i should say silver at that level to buy up to date weapons and armor but even without you should be able to sell enough to get good gear along the way… most of mine went to extra bank slots so i could carry more stuff for alts and i took cooking which takes a ton of bank room.

At 30 you should be having no problems letting your pet tank for you. Put your first trait points into BM and make your pet stronger and get that quickness with pet swapping going on.

Ranger survivability is all about evasion. Dodge often. Very often. Sword has tons of evades built into its attacks too. Try using utility skills like Muddy Terrain or Frost Trap to slow your enemies and keep them at range.

The Wilderness Survival trait tree has a couple really nice minor traits that let you dodge often and gain protection when you do. 15pts in WS will improve your survivability by a lot. I specced into it when I hit about 50 (but that’s just when I felt like I needed it).
