Ranger vs Turret Engineer
Let them sit there on the point while your team 5v4s the rest of the Engineer’s team.
Otherwise you simple have to invest a good deal of time from range before you go in for the [de-]cap.
I could maybe see a very tanky condition spec doing well, but their healing turret can be used once every 15s if they pick it up instead of exploding it and that’s a cleanse every time.
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.
You play a build that doesn’t beat turret engies.
Don’t 1v1 them and play the 5v4 on the other points.
I play condi so I beat them with general pressure until heal → condi burst. I also spec sotw and enlargement for the stab so they can’t cc the burst. Another alternative is to run traps. RaO with rabid traps is a crazy bunker buster build that can drop shoutbows and turret engies faster than sotf. You can’t 1v2 though.
the only time i’d take on a Turret engi , is if i have to rotate to them while using a Valk/Assasins maybe Zerk type build but not full Zerk or you’ll only get one round of Bombardment of LB till that Rifle turret and engi pistol get you to back off.
using the 6,2,6,0,0 or 6,2,0,6 works well vs those with spotter If using valk or Cav amulet+ a source for fury (not two-handed training but more a source you can trigger like SotF + Traited sharpen edges to trigger fury from the engi dropping below 75% adding more Pressure though your main goal is to Aoe> AA the rifle or rocket turret untill the one or both are destroyed.
again using the Drake+wolf combo or Soimoth+ snow wolf can really beef up self defence and the chill+wolfs CC’s mess up the engis limited weapon rotations out side of the use of activating turrets.
its basicly Bombard the point > prep with chill or pig on point with a item untill the Damaging turrets are dead , keep a eye on the thumper turret and time its thumps.
i find it does well and if Bombarded correctly it gives you a window of success vs the engi though its a small window untill the supply crate comes down then its not worth spending the extra time roatating cooldowns for onther Bombardment then it defaults back to the 5vs4 situation at mid.
and thats the only time i’d ever push a turret engi , plus just having a walk over there to keep the engi in place , prevents him from walking over to mid (on some maps) and ping away with his pistol or rifle into the mid fight since as a ranger you are the one that needs to control the higher ground areas to protect your team from other ranged sources or Ranged supply Crate attacks (if that engi decides " theres nothing going on here i’ll pop to mid drop crate and defend the Stairs while blocking route to cap")
so it is very situational though my goal is to prevent the crate from being dropped rather than forcing him to drop it or use it in a away that is not Desiered,(like planting it on the edge of mid forcing the 5vs4 into a 5vs4.5 or turning the stairs into a choke point)
if they do leave point to do this , it puts the engi in your court as you now have the choice to PBS him into the Mid fight (if you can angle it correctly) then leaving the cap point a easier target for decap (if you have a thief on your team , that he should ignore the engi cap point untill this Solution is attempted) its the most effective way of shutting down a Turret engi , destory the damaging turrets quickly dont attempt the cap, then pull back to mid to control the High ground and choke points, that way it leaves him in a pressured postion with things on cooldown and open to a snowball attack if your presence on his cap side to Mid turns the tables , it also prevents the engi from +1’ing the 5v4 at mid.

I played a game against 4 turret engies in the game around a week ago.
…
What were we supposed to do in that game? Saying “play 5v4 on the rest” is not really objective. The game is won through holding points. If Engie is best at it (so good that the only advice is “let him have it”) then we have a call for balance issues.
As for my advice – Range him down. Longbow Ranger is one of the better classes to defeat engineer class. Since he is not able to reach you by the time you get rid of his turrets in 1 successful Barrage and maybe a few more auto-hits.
Also, you can intercept him while he is running towards the point. Just go and CC him down. He will definitely want to keep turrets for the point – which means he is semi-easy prey in the open. If he uses the defensive cooldowns before reaching the point – just eat him raw. He’s all yours even with his turrets (but remember to bring stability).
You didn’t say what build you use. However, if you take LB zerker ranger which counters turret engi you shouldn’t have problem dealing with them. Best thing you can do is to find some turret engi and ask him to do 1v1 with you for a while.

I was playing a hybrid build. But even if I had a Zerk LB back then, 3 engies (9 turrets) were on mid, 1 engie bunkered far and one dropped turrets at far and helped at mid. You couldn’t even AoE the turrets down, because YOU were down.
We won eventually, because we were in Legacy of Foefire – so we won by around 4 pts defeating the enemy Lord. They couldn’t stop us … Because … Turrets.
But yep, I felt like killing myself back then.
condi survival. run in middle of point, bleeds, chill -wolf – entangle – stomp – ggwp. point is yours.
