Ranger vulnerability build, maybe?

Question, my fellow rangers. (sorry this might be long)

I’ve been a ranger from the start of gw2 and I have always used LB/SB. So obviously I want to build into these weapons.
Now I’ve been theory crafting a bit and came up with two builds that, in my opinion, works the best.

Both builds have 20k HP and 2.6k/2.7k armor, this is all I need to survive, never had any need to go beyond those numbers.

I spend most of my time in PVE, hardly in sPVP and sometime with the guild in WvW.

Anyway, off to the builds;

This build is more focused on the ranger and not the pet. All that I’ll use the pet for here is stacking vulnerability with its auto attacks and slowing down the enemy if for some reason it’s agro change to me. I also use the brown bear if I need something tanky. But since I have no points in beastmastery, the chances of using fern hound and brown bear is high.

I have 70% crit chance and 90% when using rampage as one. I also use the sigil of frailty to stack even more vulnerability on crit hits. The longbow’s rapid fire also adds 10 vulnerability stack and with the reduced CD on the longbow skills its got an 8sec CD. So in theory I should have between 10 and 25 vulnerability stacks at all time.

Now this is where some “hidden” bonuses come into place:
- 10-25% damage increase to target.
- While I have a pet I get 7% damage increase with my runes.
- 10% damage increase when endurance is full.
- And 10% damage increase if I’m flanking

Keeping that in mind with my 70-90% crit and my ferocity that increase crit damage to 201%, I should do enough damage on my own without needing any points in beastmastery.

Now the second build.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fNEQFATjEqUxaDLGsw1ag9gaZA0AMzgR492OHlbFWpC-TxBBABQt/AAPAAtU+ZxFAANlgjq+je6ACAcAs+6Bg1Xf91Xf9Ge4hHe4hLFwoCjA-e

This build does have a lot more stats in beastmastery, though the ranger does have the capability to still do somewhat enough damage. I’ll use the same pets for the same reasons, but now at least the pet will stay alive ALOT longer with 6 in beastmastery and all the passive healing. I might change the bear to the fern hound with the group heal.

I though of changing the sigil of frailty to sigil of water, (30% chance on hit; heal nearby allies) which can add that little bit of extra healing to my pet. But then I’ll loose even more damage from my ranger.

So I have 60% crit and 80% with rampage as one. An with the longbow skills I should at least have above 10 stacks of vulnerability.

Now this builds “hidden” bonuses:
- 10-XX% damage increase to target.
- While I have a pet I get 7% damage increase with my runes.
- 10% damage increase when endurance is full.

Here I loose the flanking bonus and I have a 10% decrease in crit chance, so the vulnerability stacks will probably fall off a bit.

Now my ferocity did drop with 11%. So I did loose a lot of damage on my ranger, but my pet might make up for the deficit.

What build do you think is superior or anyone running the same type of builds?
Maybe some pointers?

P.S I have not tested the whole vulnerability thing and do not know if it even works as well as it should.

Thanks!

(yup, called it! was pretty long)

Vulnerability is often ignored by players, and even 10 stacks gives you a noticeable increase in DPS.

Also, on the first build you posted, switch out that useless food with something better. I would recommend a Bowl of Seaweed Salad, since the 10% damage increase (while moving) is greater than any other food can provide you, and you are pretty much always moving around in this game anyways.

consider these traits… your capacity for vulnerability will be greater.
