Hey everyone, just wondering what your opinions on Legendaries are for the Ranger? I know Kudzu and The Dreamer are good (because they’re bows), but I was wondering if it would be smart to just make one of them and then a sword like Sunrise. Or perhaps something else entirely, I really don’t know a bunch about the Legendaries.

This gets discussed fairly often (use search bar) and personally I hate the way the bows look, especially on my charr. I am working towards Sunrise because I like how it looks and I enjoy the play style of the greatsword.

Same as Indoles. I’d really like a legendary bow but I don’t care for the look of them.

But the legendary bows are powerful for us, right? I mean, I know The Dreamer shoots rainbows and Kudzu shoots flowers (Hooray us, lol), but they are still have some use correct? I was originally aiming for a Sunrise and something else, however I was told the two bows would be better suited for our class. And on the terms of looks, which looks “best”, in terms of the bows?

Kudzu looks better between the two imo. If you like memes and ‘bronies’ then the Dreamer might be for you. It is true that they are slightly more powerful than a capped exotic weapon but only marginally. It isn’t anything you are going to notice. It is purely aesthetic.

IF you like the look and effects of them, go for it. If not, look somewhere else. I’m going for Incinerator AND I DONT EVEN USE A DAGGER!!!

It’ll take you a bit of time anyways so maybe they will improve on them, effects and stats wise. I say just make the general Gifts that all legendaries requires incase you change your mind.

I have Sunrise on my Ranger. I feel like the GS is a better more functional weapon (SPvP, PvE, and WvW) than the bows (and the GS looks better as a legendary). Longbow especially feels bad for a number of reasons I won’t get into, so I’d recommend The Dreamer if you are absolutely intent on getting a bow.

@Bastionhawk, the legendary weapons at the moment have no stat difference between exotic weapons so it’s untrue that they are slightly more powerful; however when they bring out Ascended weapons they will likely be bumped to that level. My Sunrise has the exact same stats as the Ghastly Greatsword.

Actually Legendary weapons are not an increase in power. They are purely for looks so if you don’t like the look then get something you do like. I am working toward corrupted cuz they are sweet

They will be increase in power so Ascended gear wont be stronger than them. It’s not anytime soon but planned for the future when you start getting ascended weapons.

Whilst the bows sure look pretty, I just can’t get around the fact that the stats are just wrong for the way my Ranger is set up.

And before you say ‘just transmute it to Exotic’; Legendaries will get a stat increase (as we saw in that accidental patch).
